I don't think BM does it. When you trade in your car, it is handled by their 2nd hand car dealer.

If you export or scrap, LTA will refund balance of road tax to the owner. so it all depends how the scrap/export is being done.

Previously when I exported the car myself, I received a cheque from LTA after some time. When I traded in my car last year, what happens is the 2nd hand dealer transfer the car to their company and than exported it (this is so that they can take the PARF of the trade in car). so I requested my SE to indicate that the balance road tax will be refunded.

all AD do not really take in ur car. it's done by an inhouse team of used car dealers. when u sign off, u will realize these dealer will issue receipt to you.

u hv to state, wat need to b urs upfront, else all is gone.

I suggest you speak to your SE to see whether he/she will help you on this.

I know my SE for a while now and he will usually try to help.

If not, than no choice. Just take it as a lesson learnt.

Hey bros,

If can, how to do it ah?

Please kindly advice! [nod]

Both can be taken back when you scrap or export your car...

but most of the time you will take back only insurance cos it under your control..

as for the roadtax, it will very likely makan by the motor trader..cos they are the one that handle your scrap or export car..[dead]

that's how they make extra from the dealing they had with seller... [sly]

even if you trade-in your car, the rdtax will be either makan by 2nd hand trader of the new car SE... [crazy]
