Fondue Neutral Newbie November 20, 2008 Share November 20, 2008 I did't keep record, but should be around RM100 each way.
Fondue Neutral Newbie November 20, 2008 Share November 20, 2008 (edited) This one is for sale and its on a buy and leaseback scheme. You get to stay 60days a year while they manage it for the rest of the year and you get an estimate of 7% return. Village @ Coconut Island is located on the east side of Phuket and a 3 mins boat ride from Liam Hin Pier. Common pool Private pool. This is on the 2nd row. View from the master bedroom on the front row villa The individual villas are all line-up along the beach. But I still prefers the beach at the west coast of Phuket. East side got too much sil. Fondue Neutral Newbie November 20, 2008 Share November 20, 2008 (edited) Maybe this might entice your CO to make another road trip. This is my favourite by far .... even better than Marriott SALA Resort @ Phuket ..... it is located right beside the JW Marriott and share the same Mai Khao Beach. But somehow, the water here looks nicer SALA Pool Villa You have complete privacy within the villa Day bed and open-everything concept. Even the toilet bowl is in the open Aircon bedroom is kinda small, but hey, you are suppose to be in the pool .. The common pool area is very nicely done-up too. Lots of places to relax ..... do nothing but relax The same old Mai Khao Beach Even the restaurant and the slow cooking smoke ribs look wonderful Edited November 20, 2008 by Fondue
Dwoon 1st Gear November 20, 2008 Share November 20, 2008 Very nice.... and I suppose very ex as well... sale & lease back..... I hate to think how much it'll cost. (Probably in the region of 25 mil bahts & above)
Fondue Neutral Newbie November 20, 2008 Share November 20, 2008 The Village @ coconut is at the 20mil range for a 2 bedroom villa, but somehow, the way the whole place is setup just does't appeal to me. Maybe cos my expectation has been recalibrated by Marriott resort If I have the money, I would glady pay 20mil baht for something like SALA We also check the site for a new resort cum buy-n-leaseback developement by Shangri-la located right next to Laguna. Place still at early stage of construction, but the floorplan and resort layout looks pretty good on paper. But they are marketing the 2bedroom villa at a whopping 60mil bahts range

Fondue Neutral Newbie December 1, 2008 Share December 1, 2008 (edited) No toll on the Thailand side to Phuket, so only about RM100 one-way for the NS highway. Edited December 1, 2008 by Fondue

Sir8 Neutral Newbie December 4, 2008 Share December 4, 2008 Hi all, Wonder is it safe to have a road-trip to land of all smile now. Anyone any info? Tks.
Fondue Neutral Newbie December 5, 2008 Share December 5, 2008 My friend was stuck in BKK for 2 extra days recently and had to take coach from BKK to Penang for a flight back. His comments are : 1. Situation is BKK is as per normal, except the airport and all things to do with air travel. Had extra doses of shopping and massage due to the extention. 2. The hotel staff were extra helpful to the stranded travellers. 3. He is happy to stay even longer in BKK (since cannot fly back) but wife and son wants to return. 4. The coach journey from BKK to Hatyai very uneventful. As such, I won't be too concern if going to Hatyai/Krabi/Phuket. Might even get a good deal now cos lots of european tourist had to cancelled their trips. But I'll wait for the PAD's response to the next PM candidate before making any plans to go BKK. Sir8 Neutral Newbie December 5, 2008 Share December 5, 2008 Fondue thanks for the info. As I'm in this thread, it would be a trip by car by land and wont be by flight. Planning to go many places except bkk... too much of a city challenge. I would think (and hope) PAD would be taking a rest now till the next PM. :)
