Blackyv Turbocharged January 14, 2009 Share January 14, 2009 i think i read some similar post before somewhere but couldnt find it...so, bear with me if this is repeating...kekeke... well, i could be posted to jurong for a period of time and knowing traffic is always bad, hope to have some advice for those currently stay at sk/pg and work at jurong so that i could plan my driving route and timing... the place is near to jurong science ctr... 1) considering my working hour start 8:30am, what is the best time to set off from punggol? 2) normally, how long it takes? 1hr? 1.5hr? 3) which route is the "risk" free route, knowing that jam is everywhere, but less likely to have super heavy jam? as far as i know, below are the 2 possible option (any other route to suggest?) -----> TPE-->bke-->kpe-->pie--> jurong -----> TPE-->Sle-->Cte-->pie--> jurong 4) how about going home time? normally, how late will the traffic volume reduce? 6:30pm?? 7:00pm?? 7:30pm?? 8:00pm?? 5pm+ sure start to jam everywhere again if im not wrong..... any other advice... ↡ Advertisement

Hi, I work at JE (IBP) & stay in Punggol. Every morning I send my son to Bedok (School) then drive via PIE to JE. If school hols, I take the 'NS Highway'......TPE, SLE, BKE, PIE.... I find that route to be most hassle free...about 30mins (most times within speed limit) if it doesn't rain or kena accident. If you start at 8.30am, I suggest you leave by 7.45am to give you allowance for jams (BKE) & other last min delays. cheers!

I am also working around your area at Jurong science centre, currently staying at SK. I avoid as much of the E-way as possible.... Take TPE - SLE, exit at Thomson, immediately the next exit after Yishun exit Turn left towards Sin Ming, Bishan area.... Go straight till u hit Lornie road, then turn left onto PIE towards Tuas Exit at Bukit Batok East Ave 3, turn left, once u hit a T-junction turn right.... You will see Tradehub21 on your right.... Turn left at cross junction and you will get to Jurong Science centre from there. Whole journey will probably take you 45min to an hour, depends on your speed. Dashingd Neutral Newbie January 14, 2009 Share January 14, 2009 thxs.... your 30mins is from bedok to JE or pg to JE during school holiday?..to me, that consider "fast" during peak hour whichever way... ha ha....no lah...both sch hols & sch days about 30 - 35mins. I generally keep to the speed limit on TPE/BKE (heavier traffic) but SLE portion can go a little faster....unless kena road hogger. Except for accidents, there are generally no jams other than entry to BKE, BKE at PIE exit. For the PIE exit, keep to lane 1 all the way & you should be fine....that is the only lane that keeps moving until some joker decides to cut into Lane 2/3 to go into PIE. Then he/she sure kena horn left right & centre!!! If you time your drive properly to reach the ERP gantry at 8.01am...u'll miss the ERP charges...and traffic is still quite light. By 8.15am...traffic would have built up.
Dashingd Neutral Newbie January 14, 2009 Share January 14, 2009 btw forgot to mention....either way you take...distance is roughly the same. About 30 - 35KM. Difference is only about 1km either routes you take, small roads or Expressway. I know...cause I had to measure my distances once for mileage claims! Hi, my OC works in tuas. daily she would take the following route. TPE->SLE->Mandai Rd-> BKE->KJE->PIE->AYE estimated 40mins (travel @ lane 2) leave SK/PG b4 7am. for you i think you could exit at PIE exit 7 towards jurong town hall. So far those suggestions that take u thru ECP/CTE will have gantries that end at 9.30am...cost anything from $1(PIE) to $5(CTE) depending the time you hit the gantries. The suggestions that take SLE/BKE side will allow you to bypass the Gantries (except BKE unless you drive past after 8am). Have fun trying it out.... Slayer666 Neutral Newbie January 14, 2009 Share January 14, 2009 (edited) dude, go to http://maps.google.com/ to plan your route. Somewhere near the top left hand corner, select the GET DIRECTIONS tab. Once the page is loaded, type in your point A & point B. ensure to end the address with " , singapore " For i.e. Compass Point, Singapore Singapore Science Centre Google will then provide the fastest n shortest route for u. TPE going towards SLE ---> CTE ---> PIE ---> Exit Jurong Town Hall Total time 28mins. goodluck! Edited January 14, 2009 by Slayer666
