Donut Supercharged January 15, 2009 Share January 15, 2009 If there are quite afew of threads talking about wars and NS. I always have this question in my mind ever since the Mumbai hotel terrorists incident. Imagine you are there in that hotel, and terrorists came in as what had happened. You are in your room on top floor. A terrorist was outside and somehow he was killed or injured. His auto rifles/ammos are on the floor. You went through NS and all that crap trainings in FIBUA and tactical moves..... You know that if you stay behind, your chances of survival are slim because the terrorists are killing everyone in the hotel What you will do? Will you put your SAF trainings in real situation? Will you pick up the weapons and fight your way out? Will you be a chicken and continue to stay in room? My own answer is Yes, i will pick up weapons and fight my way out. At least there is a chance of survival. I will use all my SAF trainings that i can remember and use them; even using a knife and slit terrorist's throat. Come on, share your thoughts.... ↡ Advertisement

Will you go back in to save your fellow citizens?

Nirxe Clutched January 15, 2009 Share January 15, 2009 I'll save my own skin first, hide it out till the coast is clear. In unprecedented times like these, the fundamentals (NS Training) often don't work as the mission involves fending off terrorists who harbor illogical ideologies. They have nothing to lose and are prepared to lose their life for martyrdom. On the other hand, you have everything to lose. Think of the people & relationships that are dependent on you... There's a saying that goes: "Heroes often die young." The message is clear and the choice is clearly yours. Peace!

Chengtl Neutral Newbie January 15, 2009 Share January 15, 2009 It's very hard to fully comprehend the situation until one is really in the actual situation. Right now, without fully comprehending the real situation, I'll say yes, I'll fight those idiotic terrorists. But I'm not sure if I would still have the courage to do it under the real situation. I may end up chickening out, who knows? For my first thoughts will be of my family - what will happen to them if I'm gone? But if those maggots start to execute the hostages and I've got the weapon and with nowhere else to escape, I'll start shooting back. Cos at that moment, I know I've got no other option - it's either I fight myself out or just stand there and be killed by the idiots.

Will you go back in to save your fellow citizens? nah. maybe for pple i know. just maybe. if it's loved ones, yes. but then, only if there are no rescue forces. otherwise i'll rather leave everything to the pros. otherwise i'd get shot cos mistaken as terrorist ↡ Advertisement
