Wana tabao food how?

Just have tables and chairs able to retract below ground. Put in coin, table and chair comes up. Within 15mins, music start, if no coins deposit in again, tables and chairs retract to the ground. [laugh]

Tabao food no need to ballot seats.

Only pay refundable ERP, in case one joker suddenly change mind and hog the seat.

Stated inside under ERP charges.

Maybe should implement those kind of HDB balloting and car parking system to stop big groups hogging the seats.

Come in the eatery, pay $2 to ballot to book the seat, using the cash card / EZ link card. First 20 mins free, which means the $2 will be refunded to the cash/EZ link card after that.

Next 10 mins will deduct 50 cents from the ballot amount. Subsequent 15 mins will deduct another 50 cents.

Say if you book the seat from 12pm to 2pm, you will have to pay :$1.50

First 20 mins till 12.20pm: Free

Next 10 mins till 12.30pm: Deduct 50 cents

Next 15 mins till 12.45pm: Deduct 50 cents

Next 15 mins till 1.00pm: Deduct 50 cents

Next 15 mins till 1.15pm: Deduct 50 cents (Ballot fee fully deducted)

Next 15 mins till 1.30pm: Deduct 50 cents

Next 15 mins till 1.45pm: Deduct 50 cents

Next 15 mins till 2.00pm: Deduct 50 cents

Charges are only valid during weekdays peak lunchtime, 12-2pm. Not valid during public holidays.

ERP gantries for the popular eateries.

12-2pm - 50 cents per entry.

Tabao/takeaways - full refund to cashcard

First 20 mins of lunching within premises - full refund to cashcard

Lunching within premises beyond 20 mins - no refund of ERP charges.

Charges are valid only for open concept eateries that need to find seats by oneself like food courts, hawker centers, boutique eateries like soup spoon, Starbucks, etc.

Only cash/EZ link card seat balloting is acceptable. No cash, tissue papers, bags, umbrellas, company tags, name cards, cigarette boxes, etc are accepted for balloting.

First 2 repeated offences will be given a warning and ask to ballot using the cash/ EZ link card. 3rd repeated offence will be subjected to police case.

First offence will be given a warning. Second offence will subject to a fine up to $20.

Third offence will subject to a fine up to $100.

All related eateries affected by the new law will have to set up ERP gantries and set up prominent notices on the entrances regarding to the steps of balloting the seats and the related charges thereafter.

Eateries that do not comply:

First offence: Warning from the NEA.

Second offence: Operator will subject to a fine up to $5,000.

Third offence: Suspend operations up to a week, or till the notices and gantries are fully up and operational, whichever earlier. Fine up to $5,000.

Subsequent offences: Operator may not able to bid for the new lease.

Eateries operated under the HDB will not be affected.

But the queue for food sometimes from 20 to 40mins!!! [dizzy]

Then either the patrons or stallholders have to adapt.

Patrons:

If you look outside and the queue is long for that stall, then eat another stall.

If you insist on eating from that stall, then tabao or book the seat only when you have take order and pay.

Stallholders:

- Operate like fast food for weekday lunchtime crowds. Precook the ingredients and heat up the final dish.

- Make lunchtime food menu simpler and easy to prepare, fast to cook, to reduce queue waiting times. Simpler food menus can also reduce prices for patrons.

- Allow order and pay first scheme for the queue so that patrons can decide when to book the seat if your stall is popular. Give number tags if possible to track your orders better.

Need to pass another law for stallholders to tackle long queues?

Like that might as well have ready to eat meals from vending machines.

Hawker business will drop. Gov wana revive hawker business. If patrons have to pay to visit hawker, ppl rather dine at smaller eateries like those operate from office buildings.

Maybe better idea is no chairs, just standing tables. So ppl just eat and zhao.

Vending machines? Probably soon.

Not many wants to be a hawker these days.

Actually the hawkers' business may be better. More turnover rates over the usage of tables and chairs means more people will visit the hawker center during that 2 hours. One table can serve 6 different groups of people, given one group spend only 20 mins to finish the meal, instead of one group hogging the table for 2 hours, unless you say this group order repeatedly again and again, but hey, again, this is worktime lunching (1hr), where got time to buffet?

Anyway not every work place have their own canteens and those have may not serve all needs for everyone working in the building.

Fair to everyone, workers, non working people, tourists, etc.

No chairs is not our culture as mentioned by another member. How about the time after peak lunchtime? Need to hire people to put back the chairs?

Or maybe use rent a seat scheme to rent and attach a seat on the seat legs instead?

Why your proposal very the MIW style one?

Got problem ---> charge money --> problem solved

Micromanage too......just look at our taxi surcharges probably one of the most confusing and complicated in the world and end up still lack of taxi at the crucial timings.

Supercharged

should consider going backward.

customers order food from table, stall owners serve food to the tables, in 21st century ways (smart phone, robot, drone etc)

no queues, no tissue paper, no hot food in hands looking for seat.
