KM already got competitor to the Golf GTI Mk6 which is the Civic Type R FN2

but selling 2 civic type r's would lead to confusion.

Its always a case of a few steps too slow for ADs ... when PIs had already filled the roads with FD2R, then they woke up their idea.

But i am sure the delay is due to legislative procedures or red-tape as an AD, in comparision, PI don't have to deal with these.

Still, if they can sell FN2R & FD2R side by side, that will be cool as no PI can do this at the moment.

It will be very interesting to see km bringing in e jdm ctr. This will create competition to e pi who is at currently trying to monopolize e market share. I would love to see this competition

yesterday, when i went to test drive the FD2..i asked the SE whether it's true KM is bringing in the FD2R...

he say what he heard is that honda UK might come out with a more powerful FN2R to bring it on par with the spec of FD2R..

we just have to wait and see

Nothing new. Stream also similar situation. PIs sell like hot cakes liao then they bring in. But at least they are faster than BM. [flowerface]

the reason KM brings in stream later than the PIs is purely due to Honda Japan that side..

Naturally, Honda Japan will sell any new models in the local market first before export..in a way, this will also let consumers find and report any minor problems they might miss out before going all out exporting to the intl market..

The local PIs get their car from Honda's reseller in japan..not directly from Honda..

Hi, what do you mean by existing owner will feel the pinch when insurance premium comes? Even if km did not bring in the jdm version, insurance in general will still go up as we all know.

KM is not going to bring in JDM CTR. Even KM was puzzled where did Christerpher got the info from. I was told that Honda is launching 3-Dr CTR in Japan soon.

once the FN2R hits Japan...u can be sure the major tuning hses will pounce on it and unleash a slew of aftermarket japanese upgrades which the car so badly needs support from

that shld spur the market for the car and sell more units! will be pretty interesting to see what kind of upgrades the Euro Type R gets, since the parts from the UK are way too expensive to even be imported into SG...Fn2R drivers rejoice! [thumbsup]

It will get LSD. In fact, this is old news. And a new CW FN2 will be introduced. Already seen 1 CW FN2 w/cf bonnet in Sg.

PIs are selling the FD2R at about 90-95k..i forsee KM will sell at close to 110k..

If this was the price, can also consider BMW320 right?

If u are looking for 320, u shouldn't be looking @ the CTR. 2 very different cars. One is the need for speed, the other is need for showoff.

Oh no...this sounds like a resurrection possibility of the once famous "boy racer" 3-dr CTR of last time....where you will find 2 big subs in the boot of a CTR haha...I remember watching an episode of Top Gear where JC was making fun of the old CTR because of this boy racer image but he still says it's better than the current Euro CTR :)...maybe once it hits japan, you will see this trend pick up all over again...somehow a hatch just screams boy racer more than a sedan...
