initially, i thot cud get rid of it the next morning as it looked as it was gonna rain.

but next morning, after rain, i find that the concrete spots has hardened and when i tried to wipe off a spot, i ended up scratching my door side panel !! [knife]

anyone got experience removing such spots DIY ? ... now i also dun dare to wash my car for fear of scratching it more when washing the spots.

i used to work in the const site...to wipe off when harden is like sand paper ended up more damage..

best is to flush with water, when possible, fyi, cement are mixed with retardant and that will last about max 3-4 hrs b4 it harden..if you miss this period, the cement will cured,,

nows aday got alof of mobile polisher,,u need to repolish liao...

you can try glass cleaner or bug and tar removal to dissolve the spot.. If it works, hose down the car with water before washing.. If it doesn, i think your safest bet is to remove it with your finger slowly.. Do not force it out by washing or claying when the concrete is hard. I tried that and learn the hard way..

i tried to search on the web and read things like concrete is crystal based or something and it will bond with the paint .... so wud polishing help ?? i mean if the concrete eat into the paint, then polising will only take EVERYTHING out ?

when i got home that night, i already saw the spots, they were still damp and dark greyish, but i did not have any water with me, so i thot maybe next day(vesak day) can wash ....boy !! was i dead wrong !! [confused]

Try pure, concentrated, lime juice to dissolve and remove the concrete/cement. Just squeeze a few drops onto the spot, leave it for a moment to dissolve the concrete/cement but not too long and don't let it dry up, then flush and clean with water or wipe GENTLY with a wet mf cloth. Do a few application if 1st one didn't remove. Then you can clay away the rest that's already bonded into the clear coat.

The concrete would have etched the clear coat by now so you'd need to machine polish or use an aggressive polish by hand to remove the etchings.

Just something I picked up along with my limited experience and it worked for me on a couple of occasions.

Regards.

Vehicles pelted by wet cement from burst pipe

Witnesses told The New Paper that blotches of wet cement and pieces of concrete dropped on several cars near Raffles Hospital at about 3.30pm.

TNP understands that the cause was a burst pipe at the construction site for the extension of the hospital.

Nine vehicles, including at least three taxis, were hit by the concrete hail.
