Helping a friend to obtain a qualification/certificate

Hi all,

Asking on behalf of a friend. This friend of mine didn't complete formal education. However, being a fighter in life, he worked hard and raise through the corporate ladder without any qualification. He is now barely 40, already a member of the board of directors and is managing a multi-millions business.

Now he is exploring the possibility of getting a qualification/certificate. Is there a course, particularly a MBA course which he is qualify to attend based on his track records? Any recommendation is most welcomed.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

your title sound like you are trying to sit for the exam on his behalf aka 枪手! [sweatdrop] [sweatdrop]

I believe most uni have mature student scheme for people with experience in business and management to go for upgrading, not necessary directly qualify for master though [thumbsup]

despite all impartiality which academics like to claim, i would say it depends on what kind of corporation, he is a member of the board of.

do he need it? at 40 and managing multi million business, i guess he should have better things to do

unless his burning desire in life is to get a professional cert.

then you might want to reveal more details about his education level.

What is formal education? Pri school level? Sec sch level?

That was what I told him too [rolleyes]. He told me now that business is on track, he could reserve some free time for an education.

I think he didn't complete his secondary school education due to financial problem then.

that's tough.... but if he is big enough a name and can be a poster boy for the MBA. i dun think its a problem

frankly speaking... its a waste of time unless he really like to study. or get contacts in MBA classes (which i think he dun need to)

some people take a MBA and calculate if it will get them monetary returns.....

some people study for a MBA for personnal satisfaction and achievements.....

I guess he has all that he wanted in life, perhaps he felt that he lacks a qualification to make life more complete [thumbsup]. Could be a form of self-actualization.

I mean how many graduates actually making millions?

Poster boy? I think he is photo-shy and like to keep a low profile for the study. Very few assoicates in the trade are aware that he didn't even complete secondary school education.

Regards.
