Newbie needs opinions on headunit

Is $250-280 an ok price to pay for a pioneer DEH-3150UB HU including installation?

 

I need a simple budget HU that can play cd and MP3 on CD, no need usb or sd slot. What is the general consensus on an ok budget HU?

get a made in china hu, with that price, you can get dvd with at least a 4.3in screen, mp4 mp3 playback, cd dvd playback, card reader function

i think i got mine ard tat price almost 8 mths ago..its a good budget hu wif usb and aux. can play songs from ur ipod or thumbdrive

i selling brand new Headunit that can play usb only $148, normal mp3/cd headunit at $108.

Installation may cost S$30-40. Thus, leaving you with only S$210-240 for a HU. Can get an entry level HU with that budget though.

there's an alpine one, with usb jack for mp3 player and cd and fm, thats pretty much enough imo, no need for ipod connectivity, i used my school work usb to play music.

me also newbies, reluctant to change my head unit cos got the steering control and 6 cd changer. Had changed some entry level speaker set up: rainbow 165 component front, Rockfort back and steelmate active sub; now the sound is still quite bad. Think i need to change my head unit, but budget (500-700) tight any suggestion? Should I add an amp? (my present HU can't add amp)
