Christopher Tan discusses the frayed nerves surrounding a recent news leak.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEWS of the enhanced off-peak car (OPC) scheme is probably talk of the motoring town now.

But an unfortunate incident leading up to the announcement of the new and improved scheme

LTA should instead think how come Google is so efficient ?

Just 2 keywords "OPC LTA", the direct link came out...

How it came out ?? I think seek Google directly for a more precise answer...

I don't get it....wats the big deal about it? Sooner or later the public will learn about it. If it's because of information being leaked resulting in a terrorist attack or Mas Selamat escaping from prison then run around naked in orchard road then fine.... Ok integrity of the reporters at the press conference are in question but how on earth is it considered unfortunate? The destruction in Taiwan due to the typhoon is unfortunate, not this. Especially the part on, "It also meant that Minister Lim did not have a biggish announcement" and "Mr Lim was gracious enough to agree to the embargo lift" What on earth is that supposed to mean? So are we supposed to go like WHOA VERY GOOD NEWS!!!! we should all rejoice upon hearing the changes to the OPC scheme.....lets 'pop' some champagne and go to the padang to celebrate. Gracious enough? I find that offending, so we should all kowtow to Mr Lim because he agreed to the embargo lift?!

Exactly. Dont see whats the big deal, since the PAP government has made even bigger mistake and never give us any answer at all. Lets move on.

Very true. Since the new opc scheme has already been approved, its only a matter who announces it and when it will be announced. No big deal.

Besides, I believe there are many in LTA who would already have known about this new policy long ago liao.

Deliverer of good news is always the hero while deliverer of bad news is always the villain... raymond lim seldom gets to be the hero.. [:p]

imaging if got gst rate cut.. everyone would be fighting to be the one to announce it..

i agree with folks..the news is no big deal.. happen to work indirectly with raymond lim before.. he's quite an ok guy.

i believe those who made a biggie hoo-ha are those people around him.. as usual.. trying very hard to score points with the boss and blame everything else if something goes wrong.
