Neutral Newbie

from what I understand there are many types

and hence the price differences

but becareful bought recently found they contain agar that increased the weight

buy from a reputable company

no harm eating it as long as you can afford it

it is a food supplement

but bird nest may not be good for some women especially if they have female organ problems

apparently has something to do with their hormones

good luck

nope, bro burning is right.. all nutrient level is about the same.. only taste, texture, colour is different.. even colour can fake if u buy from unethical sellers. actually best is still the natural coloured white ones (not those super white, shiny ones that looked bleached), they are original ones that the china emperors eat long time ago..

as for the female organ problems, u need to ask TCM doctors better but as a rule, anything if taken in too much is not good.. take in moderation is better.

for cough, it does work, i used to have cough easily when i am young. but not too much if not will get too "cold" become cold cough

Is it really true that birds' nest is effective in treating prolonged cough or asthma?

Has anyone tried and benefitted from it?

For prolonged cough or asthma, it's better that you have a more regular change or wash of mattress, pillow, bedsheets & pillow case. Check for moulds in your room, especially behind cupboards & underneath drawers.

Bird's nest is just a high protein sort of supplement.

my mom just bought 1 tael in Msia last weekend. Price is @RM$200/tael

Prices of bird's nest don't differ much..if it is too cheap..u have to be wary. Your mom probably bought this processed one which costs about S$100-120/per tael.

It helps a lot if you know how to differentiate between the good and bad quality of birds nest came across this article when i was searching for some apple cider vinegar.

I think this article on how to choose birds nest is quite informative even though i disagree with the ranking that Vietnamese Birds nest is first. personally tried the indonesian birds nest and i think its pretty top notch!

Would like to have a feel of how popular is birds' nest consumption in Singapore.

Do the people around you take it on a regular basis?

Which countries are the birds' nest from?
