Cruze better, simply bcos it is a better, redesigned car from ground up with more features.

Engine wise, its bigger capacity than Aveo, but bcos of its heavy body, its as slow as aveo, or maybe slower.

Cruze engine is using the old 1, the 1 found in optra. unless u tok abt 1.8

Normally ppl buy cruze for interior, gadget, chasis and design ba. FC and power hv to look somewhere else.

nothing wrong but its a new model they are talking abt. unlike a facelift. imagine ur current latio, if using old sunny engine u probably wont be keen in buying.

Not a good comparison.

Cruze is closer to the Optra. Cruze is prob better in terms of function & space than the Optra.

Cruze comes in 1.6 & 1.8 lit & Optra only 1.6.

Aveo is 1.4lit. Smaller & much lower in price.

The Cruze has many new features thrown in by GM so maybe if u got the extra bucks, check it out.

Otherwise try the Optra as it is going at a discount now that the Cruze is "new" model.

BTW I drive the Optra Estate auto & find it a very decent bread & butter car. I bought 2nd hand so was cheap to buy, reliabile & has low running costs. For repairs & maintenence I buy my Original GM parts from local stockist & not the agents which r more ex. OEM parts r also avaliable for even better prices.

Engine is not that old. Some "newer" cars r using even older engine designs but u also hv to consider that the older engines have had all the bugs worked out by now & the newer engines r still being "tested" by the owners & may still have some bugs.

I drive an Optra auto & find it a very reliable, economical & easy to maintain car. Car is >3 years & >70K km now.

for easy maintainence, i suggest u look away from chevy. the spare parts are not cheap.

better off wif an hyundai or kia.

I drive the Optra Estate auto & car is >3yrs & >70K km already. Maintenence & parts r not ex if u buy from stockist instead of agent. OEM parts r even cheaper & I get the repairs & service done at my regular "outside" WS which does a good job at reasonable prices.

Going to the agent can b very painful. [sweatdrop][:(]

This question hard to answer as so many factors to consider.

My Optra Estate auto gets abt 11km/lit FC. Maintenance is similar to other average Jap & Korean cars.

I bought car when it was <2years old so my depreciation is much lower than if u buy brand new.

Optra is a bread & butter car that does the job at a low cost. Mine is mainly for transport & day to day usage & the occasional jaunt upto Msia for holidays. So far no major repair issues. Been driving for almost 2 years & >20K km already.

Wagon is always good, can put lots of things especially going to supermarket for grocery. Optra black wagon with 17inch rims is a eye catching on the road
