Friendstar Supercharged January 10, 2010 Share January 10, 2010 I think at this price range, it makes absolute sense to go for forte followed by avante Don't be deceived by the recent toyota promotion. they have to resort to this becos both their breadNbutter models Vios and ALtis are crap. Friendstar Supercharged January 10, 2010 Share January 10, 2010 However, do consider toyota if you'r buying PI models like Wish, MarkX, allion, Estima, even sienta! solid models.

GoodCar 4th Gear January 10, 2010 Share January 10, 2010 Toyota Vios -- Make in Thai Avante and Forte - Make in Korea Unless Vios sell lower than Avante and Forte, don't buy a Vios. They are not passing the saving to consumer, so why support them.
Atonchia Supersonic January 10, 2010 Share January 10, 2010 you must ask yourself what are your priority your are looking for. Engine capacity Vios is lowest, Boot space Vios is smallest. Sound insulation Vios maybe the worst especially when cruising above 90km/hr. Personally have driven a SGY plate, 45k mileage Vios, sounded like a pick-up. Comfort wise, go sit in it to feel it yourself. Door closing sound is still ok, but the boot can be more solid. But Suspension, acceleration Vios may have some advantage. Do the comparison yourself. Safety features - all almost the same, but Forte should be the best, do your own comparison. If you are looking to sell off a car within 3-5 years, then get Vios. Because may fetch better price. If driving longer, then get the Avante, reliablilty issue is not a problem with Korean make now. Unless you got a lemon. Don't be affected by branding. just get one that fit your current need most. Alfisti168 1st Gear January 10, 2010 Share January 10, 2010 Forte. Dun be fooled by Toyota's 3+2 year warranty. During the 4th nn 5th year the warranty is backed by insurance, not manufacturer. So claiming process will be.... muhahaha.
Speedz76 2nd Gear January 10, 2010 Share January 10, 2010 (edited) first of all, your choice shld be between forte and vios.. dun understand where avante comes in main point is for this price.. its def a forte! vios -- should be good fc (?) forte -- a whole chunk of nice features on the car... what i dun like is its a bit "high" just my 2c worth.. btw, my current ride is none of these 3 cheers Edited January 10, 2010 by Speedz76
Kangadrool Supersonic January 10, 2010 Share January 10, 2010 (edited) Vios interior looks like China cars. If there is no choice given for Forte or Avante, rather choose Proton Persona than Vios. Edited January 10, 2010 by Kangadrool

Actually the latest generation Proton look quite nice, have Variable v/v engine also. If drive up north, maybe the TP will give a bit more chance...hehe

Windchoco 1st Gear January 11, 2010 Share January 11, 2010 (edited) Do note that Forte's reliability seems lower than the other 2. That is based on evidence, not hearsay. Avante is the 1 to go for if u like a comfort, quiet and decently quick ride. Forte is if u love gadgets. I find Forte noisy during test drive... Could be the 17" rims. Vios for no frills, good FC, basic bare car. It is also the slightly faster car among the 3 from 0-100. Edited January 11, 2010 by Windchoco

Ben5266 Supercharged January 11, 2010 Share January 11, 2010 Assuming you are mindful about the total cost of ownership, you might want to check out the insurance cost for the respective model. The difference can be up to $400-500 per year. Example: Suzuki SX4 sedan - $2000 vs Latio sedan - $1700.
Windchoco 1st Gear January 11, 2010 Share January 11, 2010 so where's the evidence huh? U go kia forum see lo... i tot pic posted the link many times... lol Its amazing y the Forte has problems that the Avante doesn't... Even though its supposed to be >70% the same car? ↡ Advertisement
