Hi bros,

CNY is round the corner, I do not really like the 'Mei Zheng Xiang' or the 'Xiang Wei' Bak Kwa, neither do I want to queue up for 林志源, may I know any one knows of any lesser known but nice Bak Kwa?

Thanks in advance!

Neutral Newbie

Yishun Chong Pang market there got one old store. 20+ years liao. Still like their traditional taste after all these years. For those who interested, it is near the back gate of the chong pang community centre. [thumbsup]

i prefer Fragrance than MZX.

MZX seems to be more oily.

anyway i notice that bak gua during CNY period are not good quality...u see more fats in the minced meat that normal...they add alot of fats to make up the meat due to high demand during CNY.

for me, is nothing but Lin Zhi Yuan. No other bak kwa comes close. Everytime I drive pass, I will have an urge to stop at the yellow zig zag line to buy.

lin zhi yuan quality during normal times and during cny is very different. during normal times the taste is heavenly...during cny period, I find not much difference compared to other brands..

haha...the famous Lim Chee Guan is all but a smokescreen... [shakehead] most of their Bak kwa supplies are taken from Kim Chu Guan which the latter has opened their own shops in Chinatown area. Never buy LCG before but tasted them. No difference from BCH. Dunno why many people so goondu go queue (some even overnight) for their overpriced bak kwa (may go up to $60/kg - SIAO!!!!! [hur] )

Any bros if like Frangrance can go to their factory located in Woodlands Terrace. I think can get some discount off (probably 20-30%) but since now nearer to CNY i think the prices all mark up liao. [knife]

I buy from Msia cheap and good!!! I like the burnt flavour from 我来也...their price about RM62/kg, equivalent to sgd$25. I usually buy 3-4kg...yum yum... [thumbsup]

Supercharged

it depends on whether u like it dry, meaty similar to beef jerky = at fook hai bldg, opposite DBS.

if u like it sweet n not too burnt, can try kim joo.

lim chee guan, avoid now & nt just during cny. just bought last wk @ $42 per kg, v oily & more pui bak.
