Berncsp76 6th Gear February 6, 2010 Share February 6, 2010 btw lots of CNY goodies all over the places with lots of shoppers... I just "hu" 12 boxes of those fortune cookies back from Tesco Tebrau on 2 days ago to give to my clients and colleagues... quite cheap at RM11.80. Btw Jusco beside selling same thing but at RM14.90... btw went to find my 我来也 bak kwa in Sentosa area opposite The Store...then realised that not enuf RM and SG and they dun accept CCards...haiz then tot of going back again next Friday nite to buy (they close at 12mn from now till 13 feb)...minced meat RM80 cut meat RM72.. Then go over to 大马花园 further up from there, saw a long queue forming up at 新东方...they got promo buy 1kg FOC 1/2 kg lots of SG cars there...think they buying alot coz so cheap + promo...but 1 person can only buy 1 kg. Promo until 13 Feb... Pics below and the pricing...can even choose the FOC bak kwa...btw, the chilli one sold out very fast. Should taste nice. I bought 3kg back... Oh ya, they dun take CC too...prepare more RM... Tasted it today, not bad but slightly dry. will add some manuka honey to make it juicy P/S: next week going in again to buy more probably... Rayleigh 6th Gear February 8, 2010 Share February 8, 2010 (edited) heard bak kwa not allow to bring back to sg . Can confirm Bro, use the SAF rule lah. Anything also can but dun get caught. At most confiscate only. Edited February 8, 2010 by Rayleigh
Genie47 1st Gear February 8, 2010 Share February 8, 2010 Bak kwa is cooked food. I don't see why it cannot be brought in. That is why we SGers kinda dumb. Nobody asks the reason why bak kwa cannot be brought in. We can buy canned luncheon meat and they will wave us by but why Bak kwa cannot. I smell conspiracy. Bak kwa sellers from SG must have lobbied hard for "protection" and hence why we see this blanket ban on bringing bak kwa from MY. BTW, was a Fragrance factory outlet at Woodlands Terrace on Sat. The place is a fish market. All the buses bringing "buying tourists" from all over SG! Jammed up the place. Fassler also so many cars with people buying salmon and fish. Even MY cars are seen there. Of course they smart. They don't buy bak kwa, they buy salmon. Maybe know some relative in JB and trade with them. They buy bak kwa for you and you buy salmon for them. Ya I also dun understand how come cannot bring in since its cooked. I think AVA and ICA wana protected those so-called "elites" and their own "Pi Gu" in the event that they kena food poisoning like the rojak case?skarly the peng bak kwa guy scratch his butt and continue peng how?haha but i dun care la coz I got iron stomach... Actualy I got bring in those uncooked bak kwa meat once too...taste not bad but too much of a hassle to bbq own self. Then put in fridge too long also got the fridge smell... Btw another lobang...Song fish dealer at Jurong Port Road. They sell almost all seafood and some steamboat items too. Cheaper coz the Jurong fishery just a stone throw away but the former open from 7am to 6pm.... ↡ Advertisement
