Tarzan666 2nd Gear May 30, 2013 Share May 30, 2013 I also did the same ac refresher at 1st auto recently. If your problem still persistent, then most likely your compressor or coil up lorry liao. Go back to 1st auto or other reputable ws Yesterday I went to NightzConcept with my FIL car, they plug a machine to check the gas, pressure, leak etc..seems like even can check whether compressor spoil or not. Anyway refresh with new compressor oil, gas & changed filter etc.. it works, previously was not as cool & intermittent cool..heng no major fault..how much 1st auto charge for tis ac refresher..? I recommend this workshop http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?autoco...=11500#comments Boss is called ah khim. Your problem quite common. Issue is the air-con fan is about to fail (I'm not talking about the fan in the cabin, it's under the hood). For some cars the air-con fan is also the radiator fan and some other cars they have an independent air-con fan. While you are there you may like to ask him to top up air-con compressor oil and clean the condenser unit.

Yuan 6th Gear September 12, 2013 Share September 12, 2013 If the workshop already refresh your air-con and top up air-con gas, and after a while air-con still not cold then maybe compressor kaput lo. There is a limit to the amount of top up gas an aircon can take. Once top up over the limit, the compressor may spoil. Best is to go to a professional aircon specialist workshop. Does your dashboard need to be removed to change the coil? If need to, then $370 seems reasonablely cheap....

Best is to go to a professional aircon specialist workshop. Agree with this one. Most General workshop at petrol kiosk will just ask you to top up gas at $25 and 'try'. This is just $25 down the drain and flow into his pocket. Likely you have a leak. Goto an aircon specialist workshop to look into your problem. Edca 1st Gear September 22, 2013 Share September 22, 2013 I'm also experiencing the same problem for my toyota allion. FIL says might not be compressor cos when car moving, its cold. Could be the auto delay is faulty. Anyone heard of that before? Need some advise on this. Thanks in advance.
WONWON 1st Gear October 28, 2013 Share October 28, 2013 Recently my Sylphy's air con has issue, the air flow intake will alternate between fresh air intake and recirculation even though I have it set at recirculation. the problem with this of course is that smell/dust from the outside will flow in and temperature will increase due to hot air intake from outside. See this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf1XX9g8ktg Anyone had this problem before, what was the issue? And what was the remedy and cost? My ride is 2.0, the buttons are a bit different, you have the 3 buttons Clean/ Fresh Air Inatke/Recirculation. From what I read, most likely it's the cooling coil sensor or the compressor, but I'm sure most workshop will just say compressor, that'll cost a bomb to replace. So I'm asking around to see if anyone has encountered this problem before. I saw a few posting on similar problem, but no mention of the real cause, solution and cost. Thanks

If yr AC is not cold when car is stationery n only gets cold when car is moving, likely yr AC fan located in the engine bay near the radiator is not working. Just switch the AC on n off n see if a fan near the radiator comes on n off when u do so. Thanks Some cars wil allow some fresh air in once in awhile even though u set it to Recirculate. This ensures u get some fresh air into the cabin every little while to prevent too much carbonmonoxide build up in the cabin. Its a safety issue so u dun feel sleepy when u driving. Thanks Hi, I am driving a Sylphy 1.5L I too encountered the same problem where the air con auto switch to fresh air intake after a while and I have to switch it back to recirculation manually. Been doing it for a month until I decided to resolve the problem. Went to ws to change air con filter, flush out old coolant, pump in air con lub oil with new coolant ... then okay for S$ 60. Hope this info is helpful to you.

(1) Alternating air flow in take and (2) Blowing cool hot air (3) No cool air at times even after manully switchign back to circulation? Will let the workshop check it out, hopefully it's the same remedies as yours and not something more serious, like compressor, ↡ Advertisement
