saw at defu mobil... like clear plastic laminate... can stratch like mad... wont tear even with a pen... suppose to stick on ur car scratch prone areas like door handles... bumper corners..

 

anyone tried before any feedback?...

Such products have been around for years. Some hardcore ppl laminate their whole car.

IIRC, the laminate turns yellow (oxidize?) after a while in SG weather.

Thus no 1 actively selling it.

But I think its good for Door Handle area as my 4 door handle area all scratched by Finger nails...

Yup... but from some website i was reading earlier, they are now into Generation 3 which is supposed to be non-yellowing.

ah thanks. i guess both are simply commercial solutions aiming to do the same thing, i.e. protect your car's top clear coat.

 

the 3M one is probably polyurethane PU whereas the one we have heard about (which requires heat to adhere to your car's top coat) is using PPS polyphenylene sulphide.

 

PU is less resistant to UV discolouration from what i understand

If didn't do properly, there will be bubble trapped and over the time, it might pop up.
