just received a phone call from them, saying that the valuation of my ride ranges from 8k to 12k.

mine is a Malaysia made ride, savvy, 4yrs old with mileage of 38k.

regular servicing with agent.

so far, has anyone tried them?

i understand the valuation of the ride will be like auction type whereby 150 car dealers will bid on it.

i also understand the poor resale value of proton; Malaysia ride.

so far, i only went to a car dealer for revaluation of my ride whereby he only quoted 8k... for his ride of 42k

i believe my outstanding loan is still around 10k+, got my ride when interest rate was high... 3.2%

if i shortlisted a ride that ranges around 42k with interest rate of 2.2%.

am i correct to say, if i'm lucky to fetch 11k for my savvy.

what is the total amount i'm looking at.

sorry, new to such. need some valuable advise

if the 8 to 12k u mentioned is inclusived of the paper value of your car. Ask them to go n fly kite....

Your 4 yrs old savvy should hv aroun 8K worth of paper value alrd (4K+ for COE n 3K+ for PARF). at the price of 8K they are basically asking u to given them the car free...

If you are really selling off you savvy at 8K-12K, let me know, I can buy over from u at 12.5K/

A 2006 normal plate Proton Savvy 1.2(A) is now selling at about S$20k-S$23k.

OMV is about S$8.5k.

COE during that period is about S$12k.

After four years old, should be roughly at about S$12k of paper value.

Now, your car is OPC.

I believe the S$8k quotation is based on scrap value.

IMO, there are two ways you can do. Either,

1) Try to sell your car to direct buyer and fetch a better price.

2) Sell it at a scrap cost.

Now you had learned something from here.

In future, get some common brands/models to fetch at least with a reasonable resale price.

I can only say, move on.

*hit nutz*

i should sell when someone offered me 14k.

scrap cost.. the omv for proton car is pathetic.. <_<

actually, the new car i'm looking at is also a proton, but 2 door.

satria neo.

i'm a church mouse who kinda likes our neighbour rides

well, my current ride do serves us well.

just backside itchy, you know.

still hot in blood and craves for 2 door rides

your current ride and your future ride will make a big loss for you.

2-Dr cars usually have poor resale value.

most drivers are uncle level and have family so 2-Dr sales will not be as attractive as a 4-Dr, etc.

anyway, you might want to consider KIA Forte Koup.

a 2-Dr car with 1.6L/2.0L engine.

frankly speaking, you can forget about the 2.0L engine because it is not that fast afterall.

1.6L Koup is enough for it's looks.

now Koup is selling at S$67,999.

new model too.

if your budget allows, get a Koup is a better choice.

just try your best to sell/trade-in your current car at it's best price and don't think so much. =p

simi shadow???

i owned Honda Shadow before though. =P

Wu Ngya Bo = Got Shadow Not

Never expected the Satria Neo to be more expensive than the Koup. But then again, Proton was never known for their market savyness. -_-

Malaysian cars have never ceased to surprise me.

Having hung around on PG many a times when I was a two wheeler....used to see the old Satria GTIs give them Jap cars a good run for the money. There was one orange GTI that seemed to be car everyone wanted to beat in terms of timing around the track. EVOIII engine I heard lurks somewhere in there.

Now that I have upgraded to four wheelers,I tested the new Satria NEO with stock engine but a few handling bits added on at PG and I must say it is quite inspiring. Not sure about the Koup though as I have only seen it from the outside. Never been behind the wheel.

The Satria aint a lightning bolt but it sure is a looker too!

With input from Lotus, you can be sure that handling performance will be more than just satisfactory. I have heard rave reviews about Proton in its handling dept for its Waja, Gen2, Persona and Satria Neo models. A pity that build quality is lacking, and the interior design is somewhat, queer. Acquired taste I should say. But exterior design is nice. I especially like the Satria Neo, but the price really puts me off.

Kurty, I think its a reasonable price that Quotz has given.

The dealer quoted you 8k, but Quotz assured you that you

will be able to let go of your current ride at a region above 8k.

Isn't that something to rejoice about? Haha...

I have called quotz before.

I think you can don't sell your car after the dealers bid for your car. In other words, you don't have the obligation to sell. So still sound ok mah.

At most you spend some admin fee, which I cant remember how much. Cos' not those 'wah' amount.

TS: no try never no. So just try to let the dealers bid bah.
