Pocus Turbocharged June 19, 2010 Share June 19, 2010 (edited) Toyota Vios.....The Auto version....and I'm not talking about the current version(can forget about the current version).... Do not let this ah pek looking version fool you, it will give you a run of your money...even for the AT version. Add some kits and it'll look fierce and sporty! Perky powerful engine, Great FC, RON 95 compatible. You just have to testdrive to know it. Example: http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...953&DL=2090 disclaimer: I only give example to show you the vios model I mean, not saying/promoting this sale. Do you own homework on which is the best used Vios deal in town. If you got the chance, test drove both the Vios AT and Swift Sport AT and let us know what you think. Pocus Turbocharged June 19, 2010 Share June 19, 2010 (edited) One of Swift Sport's selling point is it's Close Gear Ratio Manual Gearbox. That's one of the main thing responsible for it's 8.9sec century sprint. The AT Swift Sport is really nothing at all if you are attracted by the 8.9sec sprint...Also AT transmission marres the tuning potential of the otherwise very competent engine. so do think about it. Soho 4th Gear June 19, 2010 Share June 19, 2010 eh bro.. i am driving a swift sport AT.. is its not as fast to 100km/h but i think its fast enough for me.. the moment you step on the pedal, u will noe.. its very respondsive... my frens and my parents who drive my car says tat its v fast as the moment they step, the rev meter goes up... it feels different from other car... other than the gear box, all the suspenstion and stuff is same as MT.... so it handle very well off corners.. i would advice u to test drive both b4 commiting.. no point saving 2k and spending more $ to change the look and handling or engine of 1.5... Pocus Turbocharged June 20, 2010 Share June 20, 2010 (edited) Is the Swift Sport Auto really that bad? Is the Swift Sport Auto really that bad? No the AT Swift Sport is fantastic, it just that the AT Vios is as competent as the AT Swift Sport.......Track timings in PG don't lie, some vios are as fast as or even faster than Swift Sport. TS just for cheaper alternative so I just suggest. The advantage the Vios has to match the swift's sport is because of the light-weight (power to weight ratio only lose by 1 or 2 Bhp/tonne) and the hyper sensitive gearbox (known is Super-ECT default sports mode). Swift Sport if you floor the pedal, there is a delay in gear change...a bit retarted is a split-second. Vios, no such problem....so that split sceond is very crucial at times. Of course, all cars got weakness.....While the Vios is almost as powerful as the Sport at low/mid-end and has better average FC than the Swift Sport, the Vios is not as refine as the Swift in terms of drivelility and the Vios is quite noisy. Also, The Vios need a few tweak to match the handling of the Swift Sport. In terms of fun factor drive....Swift Sport is still more fun to attack the corners....not nessesary faster...but more fun! Limiter Neutral Newbie June 20, 2010 Share June 20, 2010 Hmm perhaps TS can try it out. Fyi vios cannot beat getz 1.4A, let alone how to beat swift sports? Btw it is test and proven between stock car by my friends. Try it out to judge for urself :)

Btw it is test and proven between stock car by my friends. Try it out to judge for urself :) read reviews everywhere that the getz is super underpowered.. partly due to the heavy weight and the drivability is not really good thats y my choice ended up with the switft/ sports. If you die die want to choose between the AT Swift and AT Swift Sport......PLEASE GO FOR THE SWIFT SPORT!! My family car was a AT Vios......my first car is a AT Swift......Serious power and FC wise the Swift can never compare with the Vios...... For the 3 years I drive until pek cek I brought forward my 5 year change car plans and bought the Colt early. (though it's a blessing in disguise as COE is so high now) Although my experience with the AT Swift Sport is only for awhile, it's enuogh for me to conclude....."Almost the same as Vios". I never drove the MT Swift Sport before but tried the MT Ignis Sport.....POWER!! And they say Swift Sport MT is like that. I dunno if you are still driving your vios....BUT PLEASE....don't take your AT gearbox for granted...it's really one of the best! You try the other conventional ATs then you'll know the difference. I used to look down on the Vios thinking it's a no-frills car.....until I tried a few other cars then I finally understand the Vios was pretty competent. :) Edited June 20, 2010 by Pocus
