Kia K5

K5 definitely coming as its replacing the Magentis. It has beaten the i45 in sales in Korea and it is going to do the same here. Can't believe that 2 cars based on the same platform will result in the Kia looking so much better. K5 has such taut, well defined, muscular lines which makes the wavy lines of the i45 look like its trying too hard.

Hope CnC bring K7 in, just like Komoco did with the Azera. But I would say the K7 stand a far better chance than the Azera as it is a gargantuan leap ahead. K7 truly has the wow factor unlike the Azera.

In SG, Kia and Hyundai still going for the value for money market and cars like the K7,although still cheaper than competitors for this class of car, is deemed too expensive for its brand, no matter how good. But in overseas markets, they have gained much higher acceptance. Like Samsung displays, its is selling better, is more expensive and boasts better image quality than Japanese displays. Nobody would have believed it 10 years ago.

K5 looks better than i45 . i45 is more adventurous...but I find it is overly-styled. K5 is more 'conservative' beside the i45, but it is more balance and looks rather consistent from most angles.

Neutral Newbie

Just seen both the K5 & K7 in the flesh in Seoul. One word... Wow!

The headlight LED of the K7 is really impressive. It lights up as one solid line, not a combination of individual bulbs.

but K5 still suffers from the lack of road presence leah (in terms of physical size)....

it has the looks,

but apart from that,

road presence is important for such class of cars too....

you want others to know that you've arrived with such aggressive styling....

What are some of the example of the cars that have road presence? Camry? Accord? Mazda6? Teana? Passat? C5?

Camry is one of them....

one look

and you know it's a Camry and is a 2.0L sedan....

can you say the same with the current Magentis Innovation???

heck,

even the i45 doesn't have that road presence lor....

the best is still the W212 E-Class....

super wide stance perfect for holding its own identity....

K5 not that nice, soul look retro to me.

i think Forte, Koup, and Sorento look pretty nice.

the next one is K7.

check this out.

Plus if they get Kia Ray hybrid roll out of the pipe line.

It will be cool

cars like the K7 should have better come with all the premium features available....

without it,

nobody will be bothered to give this car a 2nd look....

as for the K5,

just so long it has class leading features can already....

there's paddle shifters for the 2.0L models too right???

Well, I like sportage too.

K7... seem promising, and look better than K5.

Even K7 come to our shore.

With all premium feature and at a lower pricetag,

only those that are not bound by old mindset will look at it.

Yhose still think that MIK car is inferior, will still not be bother with it.

Despite they are already in the same league in many parts of the world.

one need to be open minded,

and give it a fair comparison,

in order to appreciate it.

Those that look at the Made first will never see pass the MIK badge.

and resulting in badge whore and depepriciate it no matter what.

Comparison, is always on Pricetag/Specs/Features/Styling/Reliability

even if some of the premium feature are removed to reduce the cost,

It is still worth looking at and be compared in its catagory.

Therefore, it is the mindset of one that determine if these car is even worth look at.

K5 (optima/magentis) should be here by next quarter and should sportage. but i have to say i prefer Tucson than sportage (externally). I haven seen sportage interior yet though i guess should be similar to sorento.
