Joseph22 Turbocharged October 27, 2010 Share October 27, 2010 Both cost around $125k now. Given a choice, which would you buy and why? Golf Sports. 1) Golf sports same price for more power and comfort. 2) Lower CC mean lower road tax. 3) and believe or not Golf Sports lower insurance. 4) heard better FC if you drive normally. Jj5599 1st Gear October 27, 2010 Share October 27, 2010 Neither, too expensive already. For that high price, rather buy BMW, with some top up
Mini-itx2010 Neutral Newbie October 27, 2010 Share October 27, 2010 Neither. Both are way overpriced for its brand or value. A tiny 1.4L VW Golf is definitely not worth $125K. I have already read about reliability problems with the DSG. Twincharging is cool but the maintenance will kill..... Then Civic is also way overpriced considering its just 1.8L. Its bigger than the golf of course but its not that fantastic. Definitely not worth $125 esp. since its a Jap car. As others have mentioned, with $125, a markX is better than Golf and Civic. Good power with its 2.5L engine and bigger.

Mini-itx2010 Neutral Newbie October 27, 2010 Share October 27, 2010 You will not say that about Civic if you ever drove one and go above 3500 RPM.... - Civic 1.8L Owner I didn't drive one but I definitely did sit in one. Cause my uncle has a 1.8L Civic. Rev till redline. I have not say that I am not exactly impresses with it. My old E36 318is has more power esp. above 4.5K RPM. Expertz 1st Gear October 27, 2010 Share October 27, 2010 You will not say that about Civic if you ever drove one and go above 3500 RPM.... - Civic 1.8L Owner fully agree! sat in a friend's avante and once the car hits a certain speed the acceleration seems to become retarded while in my car there doesn't seem to be any power drop even at high speeds and the engine doesn't sound like its working overtime either
