1E Engine with 3E Head?

Don't know, seriously.... Tell me leh! Haha

Hi Bro Kazuo,

Highly unlikely. The head would need to be skimmed extensively to get the correct compression ratio. This is assuming the 3E and 1E engine have the same bore. I know the 1E engine had a 70.5mm bore, and the 2E had a bore of 73mm. Not sure what the 3E bore is, but likely to be bigger, so the combustion chamber will be oversized for the 1E block.

This is my theoretical ramblings. Any other more experienced brothers care to share? I prepare to stand corrected.

Anyone know if the steering boss kit of our Starlet will fit Corolla AE101?

3E is having the same bore as a 2E but the stroke is different.

Possible?

It is possible if you wann go low compression.... but no point cause carb turbo is definately a wrong technology.

Oh... So should be reverse? 3E with 1E head to achieve high compression?

Yup your right... but beware of the valve clearance and changing the cams to the 3E ones.
