Ford Fiesta RS WRC takes 1-2-3 at Rally Sweden!

"Mikko Hirvonen has won Rally Sweden for the second time in his

Ford Fiesta RS WRC following a thrilling finish to the first event of the new season.

The Finn beat Mads Ostberg in the final overall standings by 6.5s with

Jari-Matti Larvala completing a Ford podium lockout."

Saw something funny at the last stage report. Petter solberg's co-driver took over the driving for the stage due to road licence being suspended for speeding at the road section.

No surprise really. Ford WRC drivers always dominate the snow rallies judging from where they are from. But when it comes to tarmac & gravel rallies they just cannot keep up with the Citroen drivers.

Fiesta is just like a smaller version of Focus...if Fiesta start to sweep win like that 207... it could mean death to the Impreza...just like what 207 did to the Lancer..

@sunlight, i though the current one all install with a turbo?

have not followed WRC for some time. If they are racing with Ford Fiesta, i am assuming that WRC not longer have turbo charged cars??

From this year onwards the new rules applies. That is that the car manufacturers are to use the FIA stipulated Super 2000 Rally Kit Group A variant(whatever that is). I think cars like the Fiesta and DS3 fall in the Group A category.

Engine wise is a 1600cc (turbocharged) down from the previous 2000cc(turbocharged) engine, 4WD blah blah blah. Plus a whole load of FIA rules. You can read them at wrc.com you can also watch the highlights of the stages as well.

Neutral Newbie

Has anyone got any advice/opinion on new Ford fiesta selling here from Regent Motors @ 95k?

The rated FC is around 11.2km/l which is quite low for 1.4l cars.

Thanks.
