No proper rain shelter at Compass Point

THE recent wet weather has highlighted that there are no continuous rain shelters at some public places, posing an inconvenience to the elderly as well as parents with young children.

An example is the taxi stand in front of Compass Point shopping mall in Sengkang. Can the relevant authorities provide a solution to this problem?

I refer to Lau Quek Hong's online feedback (No proper rain shelter at Compass Point, Feb 24, 2011).

Just buy a bloody umbrella!

I think that is a fair request.

We car drivers don't worry about such things.

Not everyone drives or is driven.

there is a proper shelter lah... don't know why he says there it is not continuous

That taxi stands is also a Hard-Line area for Fire Engine .........

so if shelter is to be built, it should be at least 4.5m high and during heavy downpour & strong wind, its back to square one, the writer will still be wet .......

There are 3 taxi stands in Compass Point, and all 3 are sheltered.

Maybe she is talking about a 4th taxi stand which I am not aware of [dizzy]

i was taught when young to always carry an umbrella whenever i'm out..same in HK where it can rain suddenly..even i'm driving i still got 4 umbrellas in the car [laugh]

perhaps we can shelter the whole island with a glass shield so there won't be any rain or sun? or air-conditioned the whole island? swell? [cool]
