after having the owned the AL4 before, taking the comfort with 4 speed back felt [dizzy]

the new 1.6t also... [dizzy]

when my friend trade in his picasso to vw for a sharan, poor sales guy ask us after that how come whole car fault light up like xmas tree

both gb and engine piang...take in 5 year also cant sell... scrap [dizzy]

the 1.6t felt [crazy] is because of the inherent engine glitches??

seriously you are frightening me off..... [laugh]

actually the passat CC me like, but the depreciation and notorious 7 is a turn off.

passat b6?

up till somewhere in 2008 is 2.0 FSI and 6AT or 2.0T and 6AT

somewhere around 2008 mid onward till 2010 is 1.8 TSI and 6AT

after that then they change the 7 dry

if u do a lot of city driving the C5 2.0 comfort with the AL4 will be quite thirsty due to the limited gear and u be usually 1-3 and 4 comes in abt 70

with a 6AT u be abt gear 3 by 40 and 5 by 60 and 6 by 70

i get abt 8 for 90% city driving or abt 11-12 with highway, with the 1.8T u can get probably 10+ for city and 13-14+ highway

atf = vw jws3309 standard = toyota type iv

dirt cheap

okie dokie, my preference would be a 1.8TSI & 6AT. Maybe should look at year 2009 to be safe.

once again thanks bro Furrynadz that helped me to scale down my search.

Eh, how about a Volvo S80 2.0T or 2.5T will be even better..

I never check, but is the price a lot higher than C5..

I owned a 2.0 Confort coming to 5 yrs with 57,000km on the odo.

The ride comfort is fantastic, especially when there is so many road works going on.

My suspension spheres are still in good shape, lower arm bushings gave way at 30k km , have to replace the entire arm as C5 X7 does not have bushings parts alone, but TnP managed to modify one car's mounting and replace with Pug 407 bushings. By the way, the lower arms cost 260 each side, renew every 30-40k km intervals.

The new Borg Warner valve bodies would have solve AL4's problem.

If u prefer HID, full Nappa, massage seats and sunroof, try looking for 2.0 Exclusive.

The AL4 is thirsty indeed, same as my previous Subaru Legacy.

Those 2.0 Confort manufactured around Q4 of 2009 have the highest OMV.

Frankly it is very hard to come by a well maintained C5 in the used mmarket.

Most owners find it so comfortable that they just whack the car all the way and dispose it within 3 yrs, majority owners are business owners or company executives.

I would choose a C6 over a C5 3L. Only 14 + 1 in Singapore.

I wonder if Jayakumar still holding on to his C6.
