Letter from Tong Jee Cheng (Today 20April) IT is disappointing that the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort (picture) is fast becoming an iconic representation of Singapore. We see it in the background in local television dramas, we see it in tourist leaflets. It seems to appear often as backdrops in the various advertising media. Fullerton hotel the above represent history and true singapore. if new buildings.. i will say duxton 1 dat government is veri proud of. The world's top 30 highest paid politicians sit inside regularly to chit chat. Can any other country in the WORLD claims this feat? This is truely something to be proud of. can i also nominate Istana?? .......... where the world's highest paid president hides and 'twiddles' his fingers wondering what to do the next day?? World's highest paid is only refering to one person, doesnt sound so Sart. But if u tell tourists that world's top 30 highest paid meets inside regularly, they will be very impressed, assuming that this must be the place where the leaders of the top 30 economy nations meets, like G20 or G8.
