Any information on the maintenance cost compared to C&C or PM for equivalent class aka E class or 5 series? Are the spare parts expensive?

Still under warranty so do not know. Should be comparable to C&C and PM.

TopGear compared the 2012 XF 2.2Diesel with the A6 2.0TDI and BMW 520d....

 

They lamented about the XF's clattery diesel when BMW can make a silky smooth one, and the interior though emotive over the Germans, looks outdated compared to the nicely made 5-Series.

 

But they also mentioned that the 5-Series has lost that sweet handling characteristics of times past, whereas the XF was a joy to drive.

 

The A6 remains to be just the average- nothing special about it.

But they also say the 2012 XF should be the XF when they first launch it in YR2008. But true enough, it's a good enough modern Jaguar, and it's for people who "isn't responsible, but is in a really nice likeable way"....quote from TG
