bros,

need advice. i'm doing my divorce settlement, the only 1 thing left is the car. my car is bought under ex-wife name, thus all insurance ownership is under her name. now we have to sell the car and i will buy over the car.

i have 26K of loan balance and the car can be sold 26K to a car dealer. therfore net/net no returns or top-up needed. As i want to buy over the car, what steps should i take. i will need to take a loan of 26K to cover the outstanding.

please advice.

thanks

If you can settle the loan yourself, it will be easy. After full settlement (usually takes 1-2days), go to LTA 2nd flr, fill a form, have IC of owner & new owner, have insurance for the new owner .. pay transfer fee ...

But since u mention u need to loan $26k .. u may need an "agent" to settle for u. Usually car dealers will provide such service for a fee (not sure how much, I reckon $500 or so maybe). They will settle the outstanding loan, apply new loan for u, settle ur insurance, trf ownership for u. Many in forum should be able to link you up with dealer. If really no one did, u can PM me ...

bros,

car loan got rejected by banks. cos officially not seperated, and no banks want to take this offer. any other ways to save this situation

i see some used selling in the market are financed by the company that is selling them, wise to approach them?

Bro,

What has the separation got to do with whether your loan is approved or not?

quite a lot actually, to the banks. does it make sense for husband and wife to sell each other properties while legally married?

sorry to hijack this thread..

anyone knows how much time does it take for onemotoring.com to reflect new car assuming ownership transfer was done on friday at LTA?

Is it immediate?

Or some lead time required?

u sign the handing taking over form the vehicle is effectively yrs....for LTA its on a working day....but handing taking over will be earlier as cars are normally bought on a weekend where no one is working
