Keithchue 5th Gear May 11, 2011 Share May 11, 2011 bros, need advice. i'm doing my divorce settlement, the only 1 thing left is the car. my car is bought under ex-wife name, thus all insurance ownership is under her name. now we have to sell the car and i will buy over the car. i have 26K of loan balance and the car can be sold 26K to a car dealer. therfore net/net no returns or top-up needed. After full settlement (usually takes 1-2days), go to LTA 2nd flr, fill a form, have IC of owner & new owner, have insurance for the new owner .. pay transfer fee ... But since u mention u need to loan $26k .. u may need an "agent" to settle for u. Usually car dealers will provide such service for a fee (not sure how much, I reckon $500 or so maybe). They will settle the outstanding loan, apply new loan for u, settle ur insurance, trf ownership for u. Many in forum should be able to link you up with dealer. If really no one did, u can PM me ...
