There should be no free parking for URA carparks. Even if there is, the carpark signboard should indicate clearly. my understanding is all swimming pool and stadium carparks do not have free parking even on sundays and public holidays.

Most carparks near to shopping centre too, do not have free parking.

So try to check on the signboards clearly before parking.

Don't take it for granted, in few hdb blocks in yishun, even sunday is not free parking. Interior blocks like 416 near ring road doesn't have free parking on sunday and pub holiday. No wonder, the swimming pool and stadium car parks are not free parking.

Some drivers take things for granted .... don't say those near shopping mall, even normal hdb carpark like mine also no free on sun/Ph.... this had been talked many times and just take that 30 bucks as your lesson fee if u don't bother to read the signboard..

I still don't understand the logic between free and no free in different estates. The one i mentioned in block 416 near yishun ring road is bit deserted and can be free(logically). I visit my friend who lives in circuit road, it has a big food court, But, the near by blocks have free parking on sunday, typically should be the other way around. Wondering what goes into the decision making of free and paid parking on sundays and ph.

Normally I think if the residents complain that there is always not enough parking for them on Sunday then the free parking will be removed. At least thats what happened to the carpark at my house. Just opposite J8. Originally had free parking on Sundays and public holidays. Then many people complained that not enough parking lots on Sundays and public holidays and the carpark always jam. So now they removed the free parking already.

I just came back from some errants to AV and chinatown. The carpark at AV not free today even though 99.9% workshops closed. Hawker centre pretty empty as well. The chin swee MSCP free parking today! A short five min walk to chinatown! LOGIC? hmmm [confused]

For the AV is alexandra Village? Heard from a friend who has a workshop there that in the past got free parking. But many people going to IKEA will park there since its free so now they remove the free parking already.

sorry to hear this, indeed the car park in front of yishun swimming complex is not free on Sun & PH. I find it damn stupid to impose parking fee there, there are less than 10 parking lots, but the hdb car park besides the complex is free.

[:p] I was one of them. U mean your friend workshop open on sunday as well?

Well not wrong to park there on weekend(sunday) since it is free and also when all the workshops are closed. The issue not on weekend (free parking) but rather weekday where diners from nearby offices (PSA, science park) go there for lunch and dinner thus congested/jam up those AV roads.

Usually carpark at those swimming complex or sports complex is not free on all days. Whether it is weedays, weekends or PH, coupons parking is for the entire day. But u can try to look for those carparks near the swimming complex & sports complex, u might find free parking on sunday/PH.
