I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Wooloomooloo or has it closed down? haha

i've not tried above but someone told me it's not as good as morton's.

I've tried skirt twice. Bedrock once.

All still lose to Morton's.

Cut is supposedly the best though. But its another price tier above Morton's  -_-

I suggest Marche at 313 somerset

Choose the rib eye steak. About $20+

It is very good quality for the price.

And there is alot of other food for your guests to choose

Had a look at their lunch express menu, they have beef cheek and ox tail too.

[thumbsup]

Nothing beat picking your own meat, and grill or fry at home. Only simple steps, the key is really just the choice and quality of meat.

so true.. i have never met anyone who could screw up kobe beef...   :XD:

I personally like the steak at Les Bouchons which has a French bistro environment. Price at about $40+++, it is done just right with unlimited serve of fries [thumbsup] .

Yup. Actually if you are doing steak in your own home. It's terribly difficult to screw up wagyu. But the flank steak etc or the cheap sirloin is much harder to get it to taste good.

If you don't want a searing hot Pan which causes a lot of smoke. Go for a decently marbled wagyu grade 5-6. The fat is very forgiving. Then u end up with the Japanese style of steak.

Can try this. Not too bad imo.

Aston level this one. Ate there years back when dating.

i've been wanting to try bistecca.

Think i'll go next mth for my birthday. Been wanting to bring my dad to have a good steak.

Was thinking of Morton's but bit boh hua to bring my mum there (who doesn't eat beef). And the portions at morton's are too big anyway.

Bistecca's steak for sharing, should be just nice!

The Fiorentina t-bone can be shared with 3-4 pax provided they are not big meat eaters, orders some sides and you have a great balanced meal. Between La Barca and Bistecca, I prefer the steak at Bistecca and the sides at La Barca.

If you are a meat person, the American kind, the USDA Petite Filet at Ruth’s Chris Prime Steak House is pretty good meat at that the price point.

I'm a ribeye person. So seldom eat fillet mignon.

Yeah heard good things about Ruth's Chris.

Maybe bring my wife there for her birthday.

We've been twice and the fries are so bad we won't go again.

In recent years, i have taken fancy on Italian steak houses, Bistecca and La Barca. Any good one to add to list?

For normal steaks, better to buy the better cut and cook myself.

We're off to Florence in June.

Can't wait to try some steak there.

But hard to beat the steak I had in Bazas near Bordeaux a few years ago.

The steak was a cut from Bazardais cattle and it was epic.

We then bought some steak from a butcher there to grill on the BBQ.

Historic.

Aston ah? Good or not?

The last time I had steak at Jack's place was less than a year ago, pretty bad quality

Aston's ribs is nicer than their steak, steak is really average

Wow, you are certainly enjoying your retirement. Yup, nice weather, good steak, BBQ with a bottle of wine, what more can you ask for? That is my type of holidays, go slow and have some premium meat (not cai ok?). I shall do that next time. hahaha...

white rabbit, pasir ris.

love the ambiance there too

I wonder where this is... as im in pasir ris..

I've kinda given up on steaks... It's either

1) They cant get the done-ness right

2) Not cooked evenly

3) Too oily

4) Drench the steak with some sauce instead of on the side

5) If none of the above 4 issues it has a $$$$$$

Heard mortens does really good steak but breaks the bank too.

There was a stall in a coffeeshop near my house which did really good steaks and lamb chops but they moved out and not sure where to.
