Had the same problem. Engine came on after a day on rest. Switched it off. Let it rest for a couple of hours and the engine went off after a few seconds. Its been two weeks now. Might just bring back to c&c next week

(edited)

ever check engine light lighted , my car pickup power was really bad.

I removed all spark plugs and inspect individually.

one of the plugs was faulty(the ground electrode actually bend towards the centre electrode )I change to a new set of spark plugs, engine light still lighted though.

after driving for about 30km and park the car,the check engine light went off the next time I start the car.

How come the electrode can bend? Something must hv hit it?

Is the plug the correct type?

If the engine checked light is due to O2 sensor, is it safe to drive on the road?

I took over this car few month ago, the light keep coming back... Any advice?

depends..typically, most modern jap cars came with two 02 sensors, more for conti...if it is second 02 sensor at the cat, then you are safe. if it is the first o2 sensor, then your fc is going to be bad, sluggish performance and misfiring. can you live with that? if no, get the sensor swapped or replace

Supersonic

so, whats the outcome?

Sorry for the slow update.

CNC did a check and the diagnostics said that the Throttle Body sensor wasn't working properly. They cleaned it or something and reset the code - check engine light went off and car isn't sluggish anymore. I am to monitor the situation and go back if it happens again.

Total cost: $64.20.

The throttle body of lancer ex 1.5 needs to be cleaned every 50K. Else check engine light will show and engine can only go up to 2K rpm only. I also driving ex 1.5, encountered twice liao. After cleaning throttle body and reset ecu ok le.

Seems very strange the metal electrode can bend. Something must hit it to make it bend.

Spark Plug faulty very easy to identify. Idle at traffic light, the car will vibrate and vibrate.

The excessive vibration can also be due to worn engine mountings.

been using the plug for about 3k km

see attach, left plug is the bended one and right is healthy

Very unusual unless u using plug with too long tip?

Only thing is piston hit the plug. [confused]

Actually K&N air filter let dirt in easily...very common...that why it is called "FilterCharger".
