Turbocharged

I saw this in action before at Sepang and it's really fast! My friend asked the owner to give him a ride on the track and the experience was mind blowing!!!

No lah. Cos they are on full face. My main worry for them is what if those rubber on the track hit them? Totally no protection to the body. And the Lamborghini on the track is no match for the Atom except the exos note. :D

I think its barely street useable. Cause such design means you are baked by the sun in a jam... Smell all the exhaust and all wet when it rains. OK, maybe you can hold umbrella while driving.

By building up a car with the minimum required metal and parts definitely make it fast and low weight but are you sure you want to drive in on the streets?

I think a better option is the Lotus instead. It has decent power and its extremely light and still have decent comfort.

Although this car is considered 'street' legal over in the UK, think you're probably right in not wanting to actually drive it on the streets!

For the well-heeled however, this car is more of a toy than anything else. At least you can drive it to the track event, rather than have it towed there...and back ^_^

By your argument, no one should ride a bike..... [dizzy]

Definitely not street legal in Malaysia as the car was transported to the track using a flatbed.

Bikes can squeeze between lanes during a jam, can almost park anywhere. But you can't with this. So cannot compare with a bike.

i drove a Caterham7 for a few days in UK last year and thought it was too basic in terms of human comfort, but the Atom beats it in this regard.... i guess for rains, the driver can always dress like a biker to suit / handle the openness, but in tropical spore, the heat will toast the driver/passenger unless they dont stop at all until they reach their desitination :D

an elise/exige is the next closest thing to no-nonsense performance cars after the Atom / KTM Bow :D

Lol.... but imagine the seats everything all wet in the rain..... Then you need a full rain suit and you will get wet all over + helmet also.

I don't mind a open wheel car but at least enclosed cockpit or some form of cover + AC (need for SG). No radio nevermind. Then ok already.

yap, but still get baked by the sun in a jam... Smell all the exhaust and all wet when it rains.

Not my word but yours. Of course its not a bike, No one argue about it (most anyway). But to said it is almost unstreetable because of what you mention above, is not really totally correct right?

Of course, its not the most practical, or safe car in the world, & most people who buy this probably have another car to drive daily, or in case of bad weather.

Just saying.

as in karting, the seat can come with 'drain holes' to get rid of rain water... yes, full rain suit will be good for rain, either short burst or those 50yr-cycle ones :D

btw, such cars are 'extreme' and meant for extreme drivers and passengers........... :D F1 drivers have to leave with the elements, some normal drivers are willing to follow suit for their persuits of bare-basis driving experience, what to do? :D

by the way, it's possible to have a custom made manual add-on hard top for the atom if the owner is willing to pay the workshop make one for him i guess, and it it comes in high spec light weight material (similar to fighter jet's clear canopy for the pilot), some kind of protection against rains without adding too much weight can be achieve [:)]
