Erm are they even comparable?

RX8 is sporty but Tuscani is not....specs, drive train, capacity, engine type, number of doors all very different. How to compare?

Not forgetting horsepower and torque too..

Looking for a sports car, which one would you choose?

When you want to compare two cars, better to include a poll also. It seems that RX-8 has the most votes. As usual it is individual's choice and you should feel both by driving.

My take would definitely be RX8, it is really with "sporty" specs, where as Tuscani looks only sporty. RX-8 has four doors, where as Tuscani, you need mess with the seats. Tuscani's life cycle is over and ofcourse there are rumours about RX-8 getting its charm over too. Flips are RX-8 maintenance would be very high (in case of any major issues) and not many private workshops can handle rotary engines. RX-8 would be quite expensive.

Having driven both for few days only (on rental), I felt the driving position is better in Tuscani. RX-7 can also be considered as I felt RX-7 is better than RX-8.

I think it's possible to get a faster car in a straight line for much less, with a tuscani, but that to me is pretty meaningless.

the 2 liter block can take quite a bit of boost [sly]

Owned a Rx8 6 speed manual for 2 yrs, had also drove the newer version of the tuscani(My frds') for 3 mths cos of my current car in the workshop.

Maintenance wise, for the Rx8... So far not much of a issue. Unless u got urself a lemon.

Every 5K change Racing mineral oil, oil filter plus labour... Only $60/-

Drove the car till ard 120k before export it to LAO. No overhaul done at all.

Parts changed was onli engine mounting & Clutch plates, spark plugs & Brake pads.

All parts bought from the local parts distributor for Mazda Rx8, (Even MM have to take from them) Repair & service at my reliable workshop. Juz neg with them the labour $$$ charges. U will save alot.

Do not go to those so called "Rotary specialist"... Unless u r freaking loaded or u dun mind kn rip off.

Looks wise, If park side by side, The RX8 Sure stand out better.

Fuel consumption wise, RX8 (18" Rim- 80%expressway, 7+km/L), Tuscani (Stock, i think 16" 80% Expressway, 11+km/L)

Servicing of the tuscani, Every 10k, With fully syn oil & oil filter. (Not so sure about the amount)

Power wise, The tuscani is way underpower by its 2litre engine. As for the Rx8, U need to tua the bugger, then the power will come.

Overall, the RX8 is a better magnet to the chicks, more powerful and best of all... Its only 1.3litre

Bad point is, the RX8 "eats" engine oil... Need to always check the engine oil dip stick

[cool]
