Trends aircon service.... Sux

Been holding this issue for quite sometime....

 

I bought a trends portable aircon last may from carrefour.... Going towards the end of warranty, the aircon start to have problem....

 

The problem is that every nite, the aircon will shutdown itself due to water retention full... I need to drain the water before it can start working.

 

So i called the customer service and they 'fixed a date' for them to come and 'service'. They need like 10 days for them to come. But on the 'servicing' day, i was not at home, so i called the technician not to come and i will called cso to arrange another day. She said that, u have cancelled the date and the next available date is 10-14 days later. I said its ok, i want the service. Meanwhile, every nite need to drain the water...

 

When the day came, the 'technician' came and take look and said that they need to bring back to office to check... I was like "what the hack" u just come here to bring back my aircon and u need 10-14 days to do that? I kept my cool.... Then he continue, this one, need to pay cos it is servicing and servicing is not covered in warranty.... And i look at him and i told him that every 2-4weeks i wash the filter and if water full, i will drain it. Why need servicing? And the sales advise me to do the above... He told me that, aircon need to send for service 2x a yr... And again i was like what!!!!!? But still i agree and ask him how long will this take? He said 8 days... And then he went off...

 

Cut story short... On the 8 th day, i called and ask about my aircon, the f**king cso so rude answer me like a beng, and he said that my aircon need to queue and told me that once ready will give me a call. I shouted at him and ask him to talk nicely to me... He was taken a back and apologised.. I told him, i will call again next week..... I called them again and they said that my aircon have been repaired/service and is on trial run.... Again i ask, how long will this take... He said that once done, he will call me again.... 3 days later i called and they gave a date which is 7 days later for them to send the aircon. I still accept it.

 

When they send the aircon, i was very happy cos i've been sleeping and pespiring at the same time for the past 3 weeks plus.

 

So i decide to on the air con and enjoy it... Few hours later, my room was flooded.... I am very angry....

what air cond is that? how much did you buy it for? is the condenser out your room? where does the water go?

Is this a casement type aircon?

Did you check the setting on how to set it to drain out water?

 

All aircon has to deal with water drainage.

It's part of the air conditioning process.

Water is removed from the air and needs to be either drained/piped out or evaporated off.

Casement and Portable aircon can probably cool down a small room by 4 degC. That is what my 12,000btu portable can do the most. But if you get a same capacity of splite or window aircon, then it will be really cool.

 

BTW, Trends protable aircon is bloody cheap. $299 or $399 for a 7,000btu during promotion. I guess it can only be that cheap if they cut down on something, mabe they cut on service support.

OT.

 

My Mitsubishi Heavy Industries inverter aircons went dead 1 after another (a few days gap). We have 3 units so left only 1 unit is still working.

 

What could went wrong? The dead aircons are not responding to the controller. It just went plain dead.

I am also very wary of those so called air-con technician. Some of them may not be as professional as they claimed.

Service aircon by those mediocre people will make my heart stop beating. I understand your fustration.

I truly agree with you, I bought a toshiba air con from giant in 2005 which was install by Trends contractor and immediately got problem, i called them but the trends personnal refuse to admit its their fault when later I contacted Carrierman and they instructed Trends personal to solve the problem which during the installation, the gas was choke in the pipe and therefore the air con was not cold.

 

Middle 2010, the aircon not cold again and I called Trends maintenance & service and they informed that because already 5 years must washed and ask me to sign up a maintenance contract for one year i was ok with that, a china man came to do the wash 1 weeek later and claimed that after the wash guarantee cold but still not cold, i called Trendds and spoken to Robert (Custoimer service supervisor) and he said he check, after 2 week still no news, I called back and he told me that they will not want to service the air con for me. I went to their office wanting to see their boss but instead met with their manager Ron who later ask their man to come to my house to check and they did another chemical cleaning, unfortunately. after cleaning one m,onth later still not cold, i called up robert again and he send his man to my house also about 10 days and the man told me that the previous man did not drain off the gas when he put in the new gas thereby some air is stuck inside the compressor andtherefore not cold, he ask me to call his office again and again i called many time but robert claimed that their schedule are tight and will try to arrange a man to fix the job but cannot confirm when.

 

I think it is not the air con but the man in Trends are not doing the work and their boss are sleeping. i have written to CASE and was told to file a suit against them which i have report to CASe for action.

 

I suggest if you have any problem you can also write to CASE.

it could be due to not using for too long as electronic system will go blank if not use for too long, even you don use have to switch on for at least 15 - 30 minute.
