What is the Auto GB for the Space wagon, Colt plus and wira?

They could be 4AT.

Maintenance do play a major role,

And equally important is driving CVT or auto GB like a auto and not drag them like manual or mistreat them like semi-sequential clutchless GB.

I think there is a difference between driving a normal AT and a CVT.

used to be a Lancer GLX owner.

lemme share some of my experience here.

1) CVT gb

if you have not driven a CVT gb before, you need to get used to it.

once you know how it works, you will like the smoothness and pick-up.

many ppl are afraid of CVT gb lifespan. if it is so fragile, why are there still so many cars using it?

to prevent CVT gb to go kaput, always change your CVT ATF in time and change your gear when the car is totally stop.

2) FC

on average FC is 12-13km per liter.

try to maintain 2k-2.5k rpm when driving for best FC.

trust me, just by flooring the accelerator, your GLX will not go any faster.

see item 3 on how to go fast.

3) performance

to hit the max torque, you just need to hit 2,750rpm to gain 142Nm of torque.

in order to max the performance, you need to hit 6,000rpm to gain full 106bhp.

if you notice that when you floor your accelerator, the rpm will somehow slow down at 3,000rpm?

one way is to shift your gear from "D" to "Ds" and floor your accelerator.

once passed 5k rpm or higher, switch back to "D" mode and keep flooring your accelerator to gain the max bhp.

don't do it often, it might hurt your ride.

4) control

the overall car is somehow design for driver.

handling is relatively good.

however, there is no traction control, only ABS to count on.

i would suggest you to go slow during wet weather.

5) improve the ride

to further improve the handling, upgrade 15"->17"(max) rims.

addon with coilover for better cornering.

change to open pod filter for better air intake for better performance.

too many to list down...

nonetheless, it is a good bargain for a MIJ ride.

for more details on the technical part and "poisoning", you can ask Yuan. [:p][laugh]

Yandao, I dunno anything. My car is stock. [:p]

Hi guys/gals,

I own a 2006 lancer GLX Auto sports and due to some sort of neglience, radiator cracked and engine gasket and the radiator needs to be changed.

Just got a quote of minimum 1.8k to replace these, gasket is original mitsubishi but the radiator is OEM.

Did anyone else had similar experience and is the price reasonable?

Of course, GLX is a BETTER CAR. It uses CVT transmission and Mivec engine. You will appreciate how CVT transmission car works after you start to get used to it. It will not accelerate as fast if you floor your accelerator. It is smooth and if you are gong for long drive like in Malaysia, it will be smooth ride.

Err... GLX not using Mives...

Something many people not aware. Lancer GLX is 4 wheel independent suspension.

Many cars in this price bracket do not have 4 wheel independent suspension.

The lancer ride is plusher than cars like Vios, Latio etc.

Can't start a new topic since I'm new to the forum, so I'll ask here... My dad is the 2nd owner of a 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer GLX Sports (Auto), and he had been asking me to find the manual for him online ('cause I told him I found my Aveo's manual... Shouldn't have opened my big mouth. lol.). Does anybody have the pdf file to share? I've been searching, but my google-fu has failed me.

Also, he said he just noticed that the light on the dashboard doesn't turn on when he switches to Drive, but turns on when he goes to Neutral, Park or Reverse. Anybody knows what the problem is?

Thanks a bunch!
