This morning while going into CBD on nicoll highway, at that very famous bridge, spanning from promenade MRT to concourse, got white ants on ops... becos their van parked at the reserved bay.

as i inched forward, i saw opposite cars zooming... some very obviously over the 70kph limit

how to warn them of the impending danger?

i tried to flash highbeam, but opposite cannot see clearly. instead the one in front of me thought i got bad intention.

about 15min later while heading in the same road in the opposite direction, i saw the white ant hiding behind the pillar.

he was hard to spot from far, really.

i tried to maintain my speed at about 65kph, and wind down window and waving my hands, even sounding the horns...

but others thought i road-hogger and crazy.... some overtake and zoom past me, maybe kena neoprinted.

one of the taxi jam the brakes near the bridge when he/she realised got white ant... dont know kena or not

feeling uneasy, i know i definitely didnt get snapped, but the others... [bigcry]

lowlee usu dont travel nicoll highway btwn 8-10am... mostly cars

anyway that stretch is very nice to speeding in the morning, so i guess some just succumb to temptation

but i remember i've been saved a few times by opposite traffic flashing their highbeams non-stop, NSHW-style.

catch those speed-demons going above 120kph on a 70kph road, yes, but those going 80-90 safely.... well....

If one travels often/daily...one will know the Nicoll bridge is a hot spot.

It's those newbie that will get caught.

I think the TP has established the few comfortable bridge that they always like to station.

Never see any new locations over the last two years.....same old places.

This morning I saw the "cop on top" as well, don't have to warn or do anything, just be a road hog, and everyone will follow suit. [laugh]

Sometimes dunno whether to be pissed or not at these road hogs.

Was pretty flustered once as lorries on left and middle lane while hogger on right at 40-50(same speed as lorries) and I was rushing for an appointment. After travelling like that for about 8 mins, in front speed cam at bridge. Heng ah....if clear road sure kenna love letter + donation.

Turbocharged

Thumb rule.

Must slow down vehicle if you encounter the following

A) Near overhead bridge

B) Near Flyover shelter

C) When you see a car park on the shoulder of the expressway

These are the basic rules that most speedster will follow.

Blessing in disguise sometimes, I was about to overtake when i noticed everyone slowing down, and true enough saw the (female) cop on top..

YEsterday along Mandai Road, on the opp side, saw this truck, keep flashing his lights for a good 500m or so.  No need for him to do that but then i realised he could be warning opposite drivers of TP ahead.  I maintained speed at 70-80kmh

True enough, at the side roads, was TP and a volvo with speed cam pointing to the roads.

Thanks to the truck fellow who did the needful to warn the drivers on the opposite side [thumbsup]

Honestly, those who speed should get fined. Those who drive dangerously should be prosecuted. If one dont speed why worry? When our roads have less speed demons it will be safer. Dont blame the garment on this, speed limits are made known if not how pple pass their test.
