quite normal unless you reject the promotion.. in which once your yearly increment pushes your pay beyond the threshold you still need to do OT" free"

My fren's father in law works as a senior technician at jurong island. Monthly take home 5K..fat bonus excluded.

Hope that pay justify the environment he's workin at.

Been there once & pity my guys working there...esp the air quality if u know what I meant...

But then someone has to do the job.

Salute to those working there day & night

How big is your organization???

I am sure that it is just a small company....

Time to jump ship.....

Last time I was doing so well in sales, the company promote me to Regional BDM.

Took away my local transport allowance as this role is to manage overseas accounts and no local travelling is require.

I jump ship and shortly, alot of other too.

Company went burst afterwards,.

That's the bad thing about being a graduate and doing engineering... no OT claim usually for grads. Must standby/on-call and ready to fix problems 24-7. But no OT.

Techs and asst engr work shift, got OT, can happy-happy create problems, push to the next shift, 'wash hands' - no incentive to do a proper, careful job [rolleyes]

So why do so many parents still insist on their child getting degree, and why do so many people insist want to go uni?

Same goes for many people work in older office buildings with water coolers with piped-in water... Oftentimes the water taste 'strange' - once I was told due to the piping condition... but how to replace all the pipes, and who cares? Who knows what kind of dissolved metals being ingested every day.

Then I think the biggest mistake the company has done is not about taking away your OT, but about promoting you.

To be a leader is a calling......not everyone can do it. And very often, a leader's role and responsibilities are often not proportion to his salary.

If you are mindful about salary and all that, then you should not be promoted because you do not have the attribute to be a leader.
