To_be_advised Neutral Newbie September 25, 2011 Share September 25, 2011 Generally, a vehicle owner can apply to retain the vehicle registration number of his/her vehicle before: (a) The vehicle is de-registered; (b) The COE of the vehicle expires; and © The vehicle reaches its statutory age requirement. In addition, the vehicle must be registered and has no outstanding fees/taxes/charges. The retained vehicle registration number is non-transferable and the vehicle owner can use the retained vehicle registration number to: (a) Register a new vehicle in his/her name at the prescribed fee of $100; or (b) Replace the vehicle registration number on an existing vehicle in his/her name at the prescribed fee of $1,300. Once a vehicle registration number has been retained, it cannot be cancelled and no refund of any fee paid will be granted. The retained vehicle registration number has a usage validity period of 12 months from the date the vehicle registration number was successfully retained. http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...ain_number.html

Naruto13 Clutched September 25, 2011 Share September 25, 2011 can i sell my plate? without transferring cars? one owner to another just like that. nope. cos number cant jump from party A to party B. not that i read of though. normally buyer borne transfer fee. so shouldnt be an issue to u =) but u need to get a car for the buyer to do the vehicle count, unless either of u have lobang for old car since the transfer is also cheaper too. You can ask lta for a system assigned number after selling your plate. So when selling your plate, be mindful of all these charges.

(subject to the arrangement u had with the buyer too) after u retain, it seems its free to get a system assign number. http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...ain_number.html Assign A New Vehicle Registration Number To The Existing Vehicle At The Application To Retain The Vehicle Registration Number ans : (a) System generated number - No additional fee payable;
