New to conti car, asking for advice

Hi guys,

 

I have recently bought a audi a4 from PA, just a normal mu version 1.8t. Was previously contemplating between the 320i, c180, volvo s60 and is250.

Really liked the is250 in terms of overall package and comfort but eventually couldn't resist the allure of the led lights haha.

 

Just want to check with the audi drivers here, I heard there is a way to chip up the car to 200+ bhp, would any a4 drivers here like to share on the issues or experiences you have when chipping ur ride? fun/sad/technical bit of it, will be most happy to hear! cheers! :)

bro, you have to go bac to PA to do stage 1 via MTM, with that they still honour the warranty.

hi bro thanks for the advice, will check with SE on that, will likely consider the stage 1 you mentioned at a later time, meanwhile, just drive around a little first and get of feel of the car first and also find out more abt this stage 1 mod.

yea my bro drives the same car as u... the tuning by MTM really makes a hell lot of difference ! i say go for it, if u have the spare cash.

icic, how much does the regular mtm tuning set him back? are there any other parts to be changed during the mtm stage 1?

Small percentage of the car price. Best value mod for turbo cars. No hardware addition needed for stage 1.

 

Stage 1 definitely worth it. For new cars still under warranty, better get those with that can keep warranty intact. Small price for peace of mind.

1st, for audi MTM mods by PA, there is no issue with LTA.

2nd, PA will still provide Warranty via the MTM support funds and not from Audi Factory direct. When you sign up for the MTM chip up, owner will need to sign a form to announce you forgo your FACTORY warranty but PA will be supporting your Warranty via the MTM support fund.

 

So in TS case, no need to scare if mod.

 

Also, PA gives good aftermarket support if MTM chip up is by them.

 

Nothing to worry about.

Think we pm'ed before and in the end I couldn't get the evo 9, lots of disagreements, was finally dissuaded, as CO was against it, thanks for taking time to reply.

Evo 9 is a very nice and fantastic car too, always been a dream car, thou I will never have the chance to get it

Anyways its better you go to PA to check it out and the procedures and costs for doing the MTM STG 1. They would be in a much better position to give you advise.

Nice words, but its true. I love the A4 design, even more the A5, but thats another story. Yap, the Evo 9 is a very nice car. I am happy to have owned it.

 

After selling it, its really hard to find a suitable replacement, that give the same thrill, & yet more refine & more reasonable priced & not too expensive to maintain.

 

Having said this, I feel in Sunny Singapore, with our urban traffic, its may be better to have a more refine ride with good power, than a high power ride with poor refinement.

 

There just isn't not many chances to push the power down responsibly on our roads (unless you like short burst of speed), other than weekend on clear roads. Unless you love to go to our neighbors track in KL.
