Mixed feelings over Tintin movie

The graphics is great. The first 15-20 mins seem promising.

After that, I feel things get quite messy because the script is 90% new with mish-mash rojak from various Tintin comics.

I think the producers were unsure whether there would be a sequel so they just throw many things into one movie.

A minor and benign character becomes the main villain, Bianca Castifore and Alan are featured but strangely no Prof Calculus.

Ii think they should have stayed more faithful to any one of the original comics.

should or shouldnt watch?

If you are watching with adults, go for the Taiwan movie "Apple of my eye" because it is very poignant.

MCF Discussion here

If watching with kids, they will enjoy the slapstick humour of Tintin

I caught it last sat.. would prob give it 7.5/10..

The producers are probably thinking of those who never read any of the Tin Tin comics before. Because according to the comics, Tin Tin knows Cpt Haddock way before the events in the Secret of the Unicorn. And Tin Tin sneaking around in Marlinspike hall is also not in the comics. But somehow the characters need to have some sort of "beginning"

Hi,

The visual looks nice though. Maybe should watch. I think most of us grew up with TT comics?

Tin Tin, Asterix, Dragon Ball Z, Doraemon... the 4 comics which even now, i regularly read.. :D
