It will comedown in some point of time. At this price, if you are buying the car for your private use is rather difficult to maintain. Most people are maxing up to 10yrs loan and is a losing end. Your break even cost is mostly the end of the COE life span. As for my case, I usually pay up 70% cost of the car + COE, and the rest to loan. Of course is not today's prices. I will awhile and hopefully is comes to about $40k for CAT A, which makes more sense. Another way is to buy a second hand car less than 1.5 years, so that you didn't have to bear the initial losses that the first owner did.

There are still a lot of backlog for new cars, such as mine that is coming next year Jan. So COE is unlikely to come down anytime for the next few months. There is still room for COE to climb.

This is the beauty of a "manipulated" free market where the interaction between "throttled" supply and demand will always sustain a certain pricing regardless of the state of economy. The 3-week break will push prices slightly up for all CATs this round but mid-term price stabilisation for A and B should be at $65K and $83K thereabouts respectively - unfortunately, no respite in horizon....

Well. No one can tell you when is tomorrow prices goes. Based on the historial prices, it swings up and down. Do not believe people can predict the prices. We are all humans. You willl have to monitor.
