Singapore is a country with high humidity, so is there a need for humidifier?
If air con is too dry, just raise the temp to about 23 to 24 degree Celsius.
also must clean your fan coil unit regularly, moisture breed mold and bacteria.

Air purifier is more sensible

Just my humble opinion

I am using humidifier, and it does help in easing those dry cough and block nose.
Skin also don't feel so dry when you wake up in the morning.

I am using the Sharp air purifier and humidfier.

If you always turn on aircon at nite when you zzzzz, the air in the room is very dry. After using the humidifier, I get less sore throat.

Sorry what's the point in SG?

Frankly it's not needed in SG at all.

Even a AC environment in singapore can only bring it down to ~50-60 percent which is comfortable for most people.

My wife's house has a honeywell one. It's something like a large tower fan kinda noise.

I got one from Courts during a clearance sale. Forgot what brand. Must go home see.

My children have sensitive noses. After using it no more running nose or congested nose in the morning. My mouth also not so dry in the morning.

Either your AC is too cold or it's not cleaned properly.

Or there is excess dust mites in your bedding or room.

Dry air is not really a cause of sensitive nose symptoms unless you are talking about humidity of like 30-40 percent and below.

I find if i run my AP at high speed and my AC for too long, i get dry eyes. But so i run it at high for only a short while, then it's fine.

Use the low tech method lah. Put a plate of water in your room. better than any humidifier.

AC temp set at 25 deg only and new aircon installed. Cannot be dust mites cause bed new also and room just renovated. Thats why thinking will having a humidifier helps?! Lol.

Aircon does reduce the relative humidity to 30-40% making the air dry.  That's why you do not feel sweaty. The moisture in the air is removed mostly. When the air is dry the nose and throat does react to the dryness coz we are used to our high relative humidity climate. The humidifier as its name suggest balances the humidity in the aircon room. If can use a bowl of water dan why ppl bother to come up with the humidifier?

I have been to other countries during summer. Although weather is hot but becoz their relative humidity is low I do not sweat so much like I do in Singapore.

Aircon works in such a way that it removes most of the moisture in the air so that you would not sweat while you sleep even though the air temperature is cool.

I also notice Korean dramas their hospital sure got one at each bed. LoL...

Anyway get a korean or japanese brand one.

Honeywell humidifiers are not conducive to sleeping IMO.

It's as noisy as those tower fans.

it's just a fan blowing over a tank of water. It's not rocket science. Find the one with the quietest fan.

Or just buy one of the higher end Sharp AP cum humidifier.

Many of the large Sharp APs have humidifiers.
