Burnt car is now just before exit 7B Jln Bahagia at the road shoulder.

 

A bit of jam now.

 

Bros on the expressway be patient.

Ya, red RX8.... i entered from Outram, took me 45mins to reach the accident site. Car already on road shoulder and CD doing investigation. But still super jam due to kaypo who slow down until 10km/h to chit chat and point here point there.

STOMPers spotted a sports car that was burning on the CTE, near the Jalan Bahagia exit. The incident happened this afternoon (Nov 16).

 

The car appears to be a Mazda RX-8.

 

STOMPer Sad said:

 

"Sad to see such a nice car up in flames.

 

"Just now at CTE, near PIE exit."

"Car on fire on CTE."

 

STOMPer S.Arvinth was also at the scene:

 

"I was in the car when i saw thick black smoke rising in the air.

 

"There was a traffic jam.

 

"Then I saw a fire engine and some traffic police trying to ease the traffic.

 

"When we got near the scene, we saw a Mazda burning. The fire was quite bad.

 

"I guess the rear engine was on fire."

 

STOMPer Daniel also saw the burning car:

 

"Along CTE near Balestier Road entrance, a red sport car was on fire. I don't know the cause of the fire, but motorists passing by were honking."

 

STOMPer Nicodemus reports:

 

"I was walking to Whampoa market across the overhead bridge on the CTE when I caught sight of this car on fire."

Stomper is an imbecile! RX8's engine is in the front.

I think something might have happened in the fuel tank might have caused this problem since it started at the rear.

Sigh such a nice car gone up in smoke. Wonder if it'd be a complete write off.

I suspect might be the ICE setup.. Fuel tank not likely to catch fire for no reasons unless we're looking for a Mazda recall soon..

 

that's another possibility
