Escksu Clutched November 27, 2011 Share November 27, 2011 Hi! I just bought a 2nd hand Proton satria neo that has around 95K on the meter. Do you think I should change the timing belt and water pump right now or wait till its on the 100K mark? Thanks. ↡ Advertisement

Escksu Clutched November 27, 2011 Author Share November 27, 2011 Did previous owner change at 80K? I am not sure. And the dealer is unable to tell me also. Thats why I am wondering if I should replace it. I was not given any maintenance records so I am unable to verify. Is there anyway to tell the condition of the belt by looking at it? Kopites Supersonic November 27, 2011 Share November 27, 2011 Peace of mind..change it now. Sooner or later u gonna change it. Why stress over it and not let yourself enjoy your new drive now. For a pre-owned car always set aside a sum to replace all the wear and tear.

Ladykillerz 4th Gear November 27, 2011 Share November 27, 2011 (edited) yeah, for a peace of mind, just change it. timing belt is not a joke if it snaps. perhaps get it change in Johor and I believe it will be much cheaper and most importantly, parts most likely will be available too. Rogersk8ter 1st Gear November 28, 2011 Share November 28, 2011 I got my timing belt changed 2 years ago. Usually the mech will mark the date with white pain on the cover when it was changed. So if u see nothing, most like not done. ↡ Advertisement
