Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force recovered a body from the shores of East Coast beach on Tuesday.

The body, believed to be that of a 60-year-old Chinese man, was first spotted floating off the beach near the East Coast Seafood Centre.

He was clad in a green T-shirt with stripes, black bermudas and black shoes. Shin Min Daily News reported on Wednesday that he was also bleeding from his eyes and nose.

Police are investigating the case as an unnatural death.
