Off topic a bit ....but there is this NZ / Singapore movie..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8zPuYxpeWE

and since you are already talking about tattooed schlongs...

Here's one for you

P.S - it doesn't open immediately to NSFW territory, but still better not to open in a communal area....

Tattoo, i had 6 of them all over my body avg 18 yrs old each

Last year i spend $4000 trying to laser away 2 of them over a period of 5 session (5 mtns)

The result was quite disappointed, i estimate less then 20% of ink is lost only

Anyone got any successful story to share?

Btw some might ask why tattoo and later remove away

To answer your question

No particular reason and no big deal for me

I got extra cash for dispose

er...since you can live with it and since it has been so many years already, why not just let it pass. save you the money, pain and disappointment.

A poll and discussion thread for you ...

Have been thinking for the longest time of getting a tattoo..

Visiting Bali in November, and have made enquiries but I'm still sitting on the fence.  What's your experience with tattoos?

Want one?

Have one?

Need One?

And no - I don't need any jokes about "Welcome Aboard" or "Welcome to Jamaica and Have a Nice Day"

Here, tattoo this on your chest ..... [sly]

I've got 4 from my younger days and still toying with the idea of a few more but haven't really sat down to think of design ideas and research proper artists.

Personally, I feel that if you have a design or theme in mind (tribal/Celtic/Maori/biomechanical/portrait/watercolour/3D/ultraviolet/etc), research artists who specialise in that particular style. You can then talk to them about the design you have in mind and they can sketch out something for you, you can then fine tune from there. This fussiness is one of the main reasons why I haven't gotten any in recent times, haven't put time aside for proper research.

If you want to just walk in a pick out something from their catalogues, at least pick a shop which has good reviews and samples of their work online. I strolled into one along Sanur on my last trip (I think it was Holy Ink Tattoo) and their work looked pretty damn good but they advised most of their foreign customers would book sessions in advance of their trips to Bali and some would make multiple trips for more complex pieces. At the time they did not have any slots for walk-in customers, but I have to say their Barongs (mythical Balinese creatures) were very nice.

As usual don't drink alcohol before getting your tattoo done and some places on the body will hurt more than others, just suck it up.

Re: Laser removal, from my understanding if the tattoo is more than a few years old (5 years?) the laser removal won't work. This is info from a friend who wanted an old one removed but was told it would not be successful.

Nothing against tattooes

but few points to consider

a) "higher" chance being checks at custom or on the street (maybe subjective)

b) if want get tattoo, get it done professionally and don't save cost with inexperience artist

c) don't regret after getting it

B+C - removing is more painful and costly (and not 100%..someone said only 20%)

d) it might be addictive. once you get 1 tattoo..likely go for another...and another..and another

e) and personally, pls don't tattoo partner's name lah...later break off how?

f) do at right place..mai tattoo tummy rose on tummy. later big belly, flower become sek ngek (not proportionate, angled)

g) later tattoo design could be just a fad

h) tattoo with a very good reason to do it

I) choose small design if not sure about it

I came across ladies with tattooes

one of them I asked..er what tattoo is that? she said rose...last time did another not nice. so did rose to cover it. (but still not nice [laugh] )

another, she did on her full back.  "why only half?" I asked, she said very pain..nx time then continue [knife] (but dunno if she did continue after [lipsrsealed] )

just do it !! I had one on upper arm, lately also thought of getting one on calf

most importantly have to think carefully what design. Go for simple lasting designs. Avoid colours. Think of how it will look when you are old and skin is sagging.

Laser as I know of during 2002 only can remove black fairly efficiently & red, quite ok.

Colors like green, blue, etc...will take many many times more times.  Laser hurts more than tattoo.

This is all very sound advice.

I've been thinking about it for 10 years or more, but I want my own design and until now haven't found an artist that can do it.

Yes Holy Ink I've heard good things also....

But it's design that's the decider

I've got 4 from my younger days and still toying with the idea of a few more but haven't really sat down to think of design ideas and research proper artists.
