but what if the actual sales agreement was signed with the disclaimer of "spec sheet as of xx date" and they made a mistake on that spec sheet (ie, the final spec they will deliver does not have that item?)

is that grounds for negotiation? or have to stomach the difference? any members have experience of negotiating with dealers?

V40 Cross Country is based on the V40 which is a hatchback, not a wagon. Its main rivals are the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

V40 competes with the bmw 1 series and merc A class.

However I dont think the V40 crossover rival are the BMW X1 etc.

The V40 is a different/ smaller class then the X1 ...

Supercharged
(edited)

finally drove V40 Cross Country for a bit:

handling not bad,

steering quite light (esp compared to S60),

power is sufficient,

NVH is not bad but engine sounds loud when rev'ed.

price has dropped to ~$159K non-guaranteed,

can be had for ~$154 non-guaranteed if opt for event car.

Happened to me twice with different AD. Both times I highlighted to my sales person, then escalated to upper management with mixed results.

Case #1, the GM just bo hiew my letters for many months, don't even bother to acknowledge. Only after I cc'ed CASE in last letter then they grudgingly offered a 3x servicing package to compensate. I felt it was no point pursuing further so LLST acccepted.

Case #2, a lot better, they took some time to respond but in the end they acknowledged it was their oversight and they offered me a workshop credit equivalent to the cost of the missing factory options.

s60 T4 was 139k . Has that also been increase ? 154k. Had the impression it was lower then that as the 1 series was about that price.

you mean Porsche AD charge less than $500 for normal servicing? that's good to know.....by the way...the servicing for Volvo is every 15000km ......of course one can bring to outside workshop for oil change...

normal EO change and those point check cost 500$? they use aeroplane oil? [shakehead][smash]

139K is prob gimmick price,

ie. after loan rebate, etc.

$155K for S60T4 (petrol) with OMV @$32K + COE @$64K.

Using $32K x 2.4 + $64K = $140K, Volvo margin is $(155-140) = $15K.

your assumption assumes COE stays at 64K which may not be likely

the more accurate calculation should be based on where they set the rebate level

Yes...asked at roadshow.. $139k is diesel version. Think gasoline version is $155k...

You meant the diesel, D2 is in already? Was there two weeks ago but only the T4 is there for test drive.

Cheers

COE rebate was at 45k at the road show. The D2 version for all car is 10-15k cheaper (must bargain) than T4 due to CEVS rebate. At least they pass on the CEVS unlike some conti who use it to buff up their profits.

So any other V40 owners (either R-D or XC) lurking in here?

The 2 local Volvo forums don't seem terribly active... haha. [sweatdrop]
