Lets move on............. although ah phaik may be 'retained' by her powerful backing for another 10yrs, lets give some thoughts to the above just in case....

- Should the new CEO be someone from the rank of SAF scholars / top brass? or some elite civil servants / miw comarades? (eg TLP, to let her 'shine'?)

- What Quali / track records he/she must have? ('connections' can be counted?)

- What are the first things he/she must address and produce results within first 6 months?

- What major changes/revamp (including making SMRT public?)??

- How to make the salary package truly performance-based?

- etc etc (pls add)

Thank you hor..... [:)]

The correct question is this: Does this guy have the right qualifications to be the CEO of LTA? It is LTA's job to ensure SMRT has the right expertise, and to ask inconvenient questions.

If SMRT pastes pics of this face on the tunnel walls & platform walls, passengers will die of shock as if seeing ghost?

For public service or public goods, most important to me is only ONE criteria:

Have a heart to serve the public. Not just $$$.

+1

honestly the CEO does not require any knowledge as it will mainly be run by ppl under him/her...

but the heart to serve is the most impt...

maybe someone like CSM... who takes public transport most of the time...

Good isn't it? Lesser load on MRT will have lesser damage to the rails, lesser breakdowns. He can keep his fat bonus, just needs to say "CEO primary roles and responsibilities are very hard defined".

Neutral Newbie

A solid AO who has since left govt service for McDonald's is the finest person who can set things right. If the govt service is looking at this thread go seek KC Tan and see if you can convince him to take the job. Heard he just left McDonald's... PS Ow might still be in contact with him. I seldom praise AOs, but KC Tan is that solid and polished that can shoulder this portfolio. Cheers.
