i own both cars.

 

both handle equally well.

 

But focus is heavier, and compared to Punto, drinks petrol like a thirsty desert cow.

ff ghia: 9+km/L (auto)

 

and the gp, approaching 5 years, seems to have more and more maintenance issues and alarms

The Focus Mk2 of course!

Focus has a control blade rear suspension. Better than the Punto's torsion beam, or even VW Golf's multilink.

Focus has hydraulic power steering, vs Punto's overly sensitive and cheaper-to-build electric power steering.

Go test drive both, doing hard corners and you will learn something about handling and control.
