Rayoflight 5th Gear January 30, 2012 Share January 30, 2012 Hi guys, My dad is looking to upgrade from his 08 Honda CRV to a conti ride..so we went to test drive a few models yesterday. From the high end luxury to the mass luxury. My dad been a CRV owner since more than 10yrs ago (3rd CRV already). Need space for lagguages since travelling at least once a month overseas. He lately also caught the conti bug. I guess its about time also since he already worked hard almost half his life and alot of his kakis changing to MB, BMW and Porsche Panamera so he also gian (cannot lose face value). haha Lets say $$ is no issue here.. Porsche Cayenne / Porsche Panamera - Think my dad heart is to this.. this is like a volatile blue chip.. Cayenne would be an easy choice..since its size is similar to CRV and more practical. Panamera can only sit 2 pple at the rear..this car is really superb! Vertu styling centre console for front and back seats. Comfortable and super responsive drive. Both cars come with a hefty price tag. Can buy a MB with enough change to buy a few Rolex. Merc E class 250 Avantgarde / new CLS - Stable, very comfortable ride..cruising is very solid. Stable blue chip like singtel and also the most common on the roads. CLS can only sit 2 person and the rear.. Lexus - not so interested. If for me...i will pick the Panamera still.. Btw, is buying a MB from a PI recommended? My worry is the warranty though the cheaper price tag 20-30k.. I told my dad to buy from C&C...PI warranty will give you s--t.. ↡ Advertisement

Kiadaw 6th Gear January 30, 2012 Share January 30, 2012 (edited) Panamera. The fron tis nice, but The rear is ugly, but owning a Porsche is an experience, but many have the chance. If your Dad have the mean, why not. Edited January 30, 2012 by Kiadaw

Just to let you know that C&C will impose an "Adoption Fee" if they have to repair a PI car. At the end, is the saving justified the lower price from buying from a PI. No right or wrong, just a matter of choice. Not to mention a AD car will have a better re-sales value if selling the car after driving a few years. Rayoflight 5th Gear January 30, 2012 Author Share January 30, 2012 actually..we visited the Audi showroom yesterday as well..test drove the Q7 and A6.. very quiet and smooth..but interior...very plastic. Not only me agreed...my mum and cousin also said..when u sit inside..feel very uneasy..very cramp. Suitable for youngsters... saw a few young couple signing for the A4.. The new X3 looks good as well. The other alternative is the Q5 ...

Dice 3rd Gear January 30, 2012 Share January 30, 2012 perhaps ur dad can also consider E-Class wagon, one of the best in class in terms of luggage space if this is still a requirement. otherwise can consider a MB ML350 if ur dad wans an imposing SUV saw that there is a Cayenne Hybrid too, better FC is always a welcome feature even when money is no matter...
